Message from Marisol Lara, and Trichia Tran ECC Co-Presidents

Hello Evergreen Community,

We hope this message finds you well. We are excited to share with you that this past month has been a busy and exciting one for our Evergreen Eagles. We recently hosted our first Book Fair in years, and it was a huge success. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all the teachers, parents, and students who came out to support the Literati Book Fair. For many of our students, it was their first time experiencing a Book Fair, and we were thrilled to see their excitement and enthusiasm. We would also like to inform you that the books that were pre-paid to be shipped to the school will be arriving during the week of March 4th to 8th.

We have a few upcoming events that we need your help with. On March 7th, Success Studio and Mathnasium are hosting a Family Math Night, and we are looking for volunteers to help with food and beverage sales. If you are available to help, please email us at evergreencommunityclub@gmail.com. We also need volunteers for the following days and events:

- March 27th: Open House

- April 11th & 12-ELA: CAASPP testing snack preparation for the students. We are also asking for parents to donate snacks for the week.

- May 23rd: In-N-Out Fundraising Cookout. Volunteers are needed to help organize and distribute the student's In-N-Out food purchases.

If you are available for any of these events or have any questions, please feel free to contact us. We appreciate any time or effort you could provide.

Once again, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to our Evergreen Community for your ongoing support. Without your help, we would not be able to accomplish our fundraising goals.

Thank you,

Students became historical figures of the war by dressing up, memorizing lines, and acting out important historical events in front of their peers. This activity allows all students to share in the spotlight and become leaders, all while bringing history to life.

Partner in Education and Star Student Partner in Education and Star Student

Evergreen Elementary fifth grader Ian Choi was honored with the Super Star Student Award. Ian stands out not only for his academic achievements, but also for the exemplary qualities that define his character. His commitment to responsibility is a cornerstone of his success, as he consistently ensures that his work is completed with diligence and excellence. Ian is widely recognized for his politeness on campus. His thoughtfulness extends beyond the classroom, as he goes out of his way to greet others with a warm "good morning" and bids farewell with equal courtesy. “Ian's values of responsibility, courtesy, and kindness set a positive example for his peers and contribute to the overall success and harmony,” shared Principal Dr. Gabriel Cardenas.

Parent volunteer Marisol Lara received the Partner in Education Award for Evergreen Elementary School. Marisol has proven to be an exemplary force within Evergreen School's community. As a proactive leader, Marisol stepped into a pivotal role when faced with the departure of most of last year's Community Club members. Unfazed by the challenge, she took the reins and propelled Evergreen's Community Club to new heights. Always eager to enhance the school experience for the children, Marisol consistently introduces new ideas that captivate and delight.

“Marisol’s uplifting presence creates a welcoming atmosphere within the school, contributing to a sense of unity among teachers, staff, and students,” shared Dr. Cardenas. Congratulations to Marisol Lara.

Annual Poetry Festival

The Poetry Festival at Evergreen is one of the most anticipated events of the year, and for good reason. Not only is it a fun and exciting event, but it also provides an opportunity for students to showcase their oral speaking skills with creativity and expression. The festival culminates in a special assembly where students celebrate each other's successes and achievements. We are extremely proud of all the students who participated and memorized a poem, and we extend heartfelt congratulations to all the finalists who made the event even more special.

A Sprinkle of Kindness

The first-grade performance titled "A Sprinkle of Kindness" was a heartwarming showcase of young talent and celebrated the values of compassion and empathy. The students took the audience on a delightful journey through various songs and movements highlighting kindness's importance in everyday life. The presentation conveyed a powerful message about the positive impact of small acts of kindness. The first-grade performers left a lasting impression on the audience, spreading joy and inspiring others to embrace the simple yet profound concept of sprinkling kindness in their communities.
