Message from Dawn & Cam
It's been an exciting couple of weeks at SAM School, filled with events and activities that have brought our community together and has showcased the enthusiasm of our students and the diversity of learning experiences SAM is able to offer our students.
A special congratulations to our Running Room Indoor Games teams who had a wonderful day at the University of Alberta! Our students demonstrated exceptional sportsmanship and athleticism, and it was thrilling to see them represent our school with such spirit and pride. These games highlighted our students' dedication and teamwork and they all made us so proud. Good luck to both our Girls and Boys teams who qualified for the finals at the Butterdome tomorrow! Thank you to all the staff who have volunteered their time to support this team, especially our coaches Mr. Beauchamp and Mrs. Classen.
As we celebrate our successes, I am also excited to announce that registration for SAM School is now open. We are thrilled by the positive feedback and interest from the community, which speaks volumes about the exceptional educational experience we provide at SAM School. It's heartening to see so many families eager to be a part of our school community. A gentle reminder to our returning families that you complete your Returning Student Registration Form as soon as possible. Securing your place early helps us in planning and ensuring we continue to provide the best for our students.
Thank you for your continued support and involvement in making SAM School a remarkable place for education and growth. Here's to more exciting times ahead!

Returning Student Registration for 2024/25
*All students (even if they currently already attend SAM School) must declare the school they want to attend for the 2024/25 School Year*
As we look forward to the 2024/25 school year, we want to emphasize the importance of registering your child for school early. Early and dependable data regarding our school's enrollment for the following year helps us to better predict the amount funding SAM School will receive. This is important for every school as many of the big decisions regarding regarding school staffing, classroom size/composition, and school supports need to be made in the subsequent months. Late registrations do limit the amount of proactive planning we are able to do and can lead to unforeseen situations that result in higher class sizes and/or reduced opportunities for the school to set every student up for success next year.
Returning student registration is now OPEN. You should have received an email from St. Albert Public Schools informing you that the Returning Student Form is available and must be completed. Click here for instructions: Parent Instructions to Complete the Returning Student Registration Form
SAM Clothing - Back by popular demand!
SAM School is excited to announce the re-opening of our SAM Clothing Store due to popular demand! If you are interested in purchasing some school swag featuring our new SAM Bears logo, please visit our online clothing store. The Grade 6 Hoodie is also available to order within the SAM Clothing Store. Deadline for all orders is Thurs, March 21st.
Cup of Noodles
If your child is bringing Cup of Noodles to school, please also send a thermos of hot water that they can use for their noodles. Unfortunately, our hot water dispenser is no longer working and our wonderful Admin Assistants in the office are not able to keep up to the number of student requests asking for hot water at lunch. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
School Council Meeting
Our next School Council meeting will be on Tuesday, March 19th at 7pm in the SAM Library. Our agenda will include:
- 2022/23 PAT Results for SAM School
- 2024/25 SAM School Calendar - Parent Feedback
- 2024/25 Proposed School Fees
- Parking Lot Safety
If you are not able to attend the meeting in-person, we are also inviting families to join us online using this Google Meet link.
SAM Spirit Awards
Each month at our SAM Spirt Assembly we will recognize the incredible contributions of our students, staff, and volunteers who help make SAM an amazing school to come to every day. The SAM SPIRIT Award is a monthly themed award where teachers choose two students from their class to recognize for demonstrating our SAM SPIRIT qualities. This month, we recognized students who with the "Winner of Hearts" Award. These students excel in kindness, empathy, and the ability to uplift their peers. It recognizes those special individuals who consistently go out of their way to make others feel good about themselves, fostering a positive and supportive school environment where every student feels valued and appreciated. Congratulations to our SAM Spirit Award Winners!
