Caregiver Update
Watch us SOAR!
Welcome Back!
I hope all of our Clough families enjoyed some quality time together last week! It was so good to see all the kids back in the building today. We started our morning off meeting with our school families and kids had a chance to share what they did over break, as well as talk about the challenges of returning from vacation and getting back into the swing of school. Many students talked about setting some goals for themselves for both transitioning back to school this week and for different focus areas over the next seven weeks until the next vacation week.
Goal setting is an important skill that we want all of our students to practice and think about, both at school and at home. Maybe there are some goals that you can talk about setting with your child for outside of school? Be working towards goals and reflecting on the progress and success of achieving goals, our students become even more invested in their learning and we see them become even more engaged and excited about their learning.
Looking forward to continuing to watch all of our students learn and grow over the next seven weeks. Thank you for continuing to partner with us to help provide the best possible learning environment for all of our Clough community.
Sincerely,
Liz Garden
Principal
School Report Card
February 26, 2024
Dear Families:
Every year, each public school and school district in Massachusetts receives a report card. Just as your child’s report card shows how they are doing in different subjects, the school’s report card is designed to show families how our school is doing in different areas.
The report card includes multiple measures of a school’s performance – more than just MCAS scores. It represents a new way of looking at school performance, by providing information on student achievement, teacher qualifications, student learning opportunities, and more.
Report cards are designed to be useful tools for everyone connected to our school. Families can use the information to have meaningful conversations with us about what the school is doing well and where there is room for improvement. Community and education leaders can use the information to better understand how to support students and our school. We encourage you to become involved in helping us improve our school. We see parents as critical partners in the success of our students and school, and we are grateful for your continued support.
Finally, if your child attends a school that receives federal Title I funds, you also have the right to request the following information about the qualifications of your child’s classroom teachers:
Whether your child’s teacher is licensed in the grade levels and subject areas they teach,
Whether your child’s teacher is teaching under an emergency license or waiver,
The college degree and major of your child’s teacher, and
Whether your child is provided services by paraprofessionals and, if so, their qualifications.
If you have questions about our school’s report card, would like to become involved in school improvement activities, or would like to request information about the qualifications of your child’s classroom teacher, please contact me.

Specialist Update - What's Going to Be Happening in the Gym?!
Hopefully everyone enjoyed a fun vacation week that was filled with plenty of physical activity. Over the next 3 weeks in Physical Education, grades K-4 will be practicing and playing floor hockey. We will be focusing on stick handling, passing and shooting, with a major emphasis on stick safety. Students will really enjoy the hockey games over the next 3 weeks!! After floor hockey, the gymnasium will become a bowling alley for 2 weeks. Students will enjoy knocking down pins with big bowl bowling. Hopefully the kids are as excited as I am for what's in store for Gym over the next 5 weeks. These are 2 of my most favorite activities that we do during the school year. I believe that the students will have a blast!!!
