Teachers, Staff, Parents, and Students,
RHMS Administration wishes all our teachers, staff and students a wonderful Spring Break! We hope you make plan to enjoy some time with your families over the break, and, as always we hope our students and staff return to school on Monday, March 18th feeling refreshed and refocused.
TELPAS Testing will continue upon returning from Spring Break as will tutorial sessions. Teachers will have revised their tutorial lists and will be reaching out to parents of students who will require STAAR tutoring in preparation for the upcoming state assessments.
Please don't forget to join us for the RHMS Spring Open House scheduled for Monday, March 18, 2024 from 5:30-7:00 p.m. Refreshments will be served.

RHMS Boys & Girls Choir
Congratulations to the RHMS Boys & Girls Choir for an amazing day that will go down in history! Both choral groups earned a 1st Division "Superior" Rating at the UIL Concert Evaluation! A special shout out to our students pulling double duties in choir and band! Congratulations to all our choir students and to Mr. Rolando Reyes, Director, for this great achievement and phenomenal performances!
Mr. Pezeshki's 6th Grade Science Lab
Students in Mr. Pezeshki's 6th grade Science lab are completing a plate tectonics lab in which they describe geological events such as earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and mountain building.

Braille Challenge Competition for Visually Impaired Students
Two Rio Hondo Middle students participated in the Braille Challenge Competition for Visually Impaired Students on Thursday, March 7, 2024. Both Ezra Gonzalez and Angelina Garcia won first place in their respective competitions.

We are proud to announce that BOTH Symphonic and Honors Bands earned a Division 1 Superior Rating in both Concert and Sight-Reading. Both bands (107students) earned a Sweepstakes and brought home a trophy! As always a huge shout out to Ms. Diana Pena, RHMS Band Director for an outstanding job with our students. Special shout out to Mr. Juan Cantu, Mr. Boris Libson, and Mr. Marc Montelongo for always going above and beyond for our students.
