A Message from the Principal

Dear Sward Families,

I hope you had a great President's Day Weekend and enjoyed the bonus day off with your children. This month we have been focusing on Black History Month in our classrooms. Through out Sward classrooms, we are discussing the impact of African American heritage, culture, and the powerful change our Black leaders have contributed to this country. Here is a great resource you can use at home while recognizing this very important month of Black History.

Family Conferences

We are approaching our second round of Family Conferences. Registration has closed but if you missed the deadline, please call the Sward Main Office and Mrs. Herbold or Mrs. Kazaneskie can help you schedule your conference.

School hours have been adjusted on the dates of the Family Conferences.

Thursday, February 23 is an early dismissal and students will be dismissed at 11:30
On Friday, February 24, there is no school for students.

We still need to grow that rate a lot higher for valid results. YOU have made the phrase “Sward Shows Up” my favorite thing to say this year so please make sure to show up for this one too! If you email me a screenshot confirmation that you completed the survey, your child will be called down over the intercom during morning announcements to collect a “Special Edition” Eagle Feather worth $20 at the Swagle Shop and you will be entered in a Raffle for a $50 gift card of your choice. I'll be calling students down over the intercom to collect their $20 Eagle Feather reward.

Sign up for the D123 Ed Foundation's Taco and Trivia Night!

March 8, 2024 @ 6:30PM

St. Nicholas Church Greek Church
Table teams of up to 10 will compete to show how much trivial knowledge they truly possess.
Prizes awarded for both winning team and best theme. Trivia starts at 7:30PM.
Tons of Raffles and Silent Auction items.
Bring snacks, appetizers and dessert to share with your table. BYOB. 21+ event

Sward Mobile Dentist

Smile Mobile Dental will be at Sward on 3/20/24. Smile Dental permission slips were sent home with Kindergarten, 2nd, and 5th grade students. Please sign and return them to Nurse Lynda as soon as possible.

The Sward Lost and Found is growing daily, please take some time during family conferences to visit the lost and found and collect any of your children's items that may look familiar.
