Penny Wars
It’s time for a little friendly competition! Penny Wars will take place March 4 – March 8. Students may bring in pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters and dollars. To earn points, students may place pennies in the jar representing their grade during lunch periods. One point will be earned for every penny in the container. Students may place silver coins and dollars in another grade’s jar to deduct points from their total; they will lose points based on the value of the coin. A nickel will cause a loss of 5 points, a dime 10 points, a quarter 25 points and a dollar bill 100 points. The grade with the highest number of points at the end of penny wars will win an ice cream party sponsored by the Wamsutta PTO.
