Flyway Top Ten Award Winners
Each year the Flyway Conference Principals select their Top Ten Award winners. The Top Ten is determined by Laude Points for the first 7 semesters of high school. Students were honored at a ceremony held at Laconia High School this past weekend Mrs. Dubinski and Mrs. Cady were proud to attend to give out the awards to our Omro Fox recipients.
Congratulations to this year's Top Ten: Faith, Alana, Nona, Julia, Autumn, Marisa, Felicity, Allison, Olivia, and Clara.

Student Takes First at District Level- American Legion Oratorical Contest
Lexi has taken another first at the district level of the American Legion Oratorical contest. She presented her ten-minute speech on the First Amendment and the National Hockey League and then had to prepare four, three to five minute speeches on The Amendments to The Constitution. She will advance to the Regional level March 23 at Ripon College. If she performs well, she will advance to state that same afternoon.
Congratulations, Lexi! Not only has she gained valuable speaking experience, she has earned $800 so far.
Best of luck to you, Lexi, as you continue your speech contest journey.
Culinary Arts Class Prepare School Wide Healthy Snack
Mrs. Morse's Culinary Arts class volunteered their time to prepare a healthy snack to share with the students at OHS to promote Heart Disease Health Month sponsored by Key Club and the American Heart Association. The CA students prepared and bagged up over 300 servings of a heart healthy trail mix to distribute to all students.
Battle of the Books Represented at Final State Test
Our 2024 Battle of the Books Teams from OES, OMS, and OHS represented the Omro School District in the Final State Test the last week of February. Results will be released the first week of March of how they placed among other schools throughout the state of Wisconsin. Great job teams!
Battle of the Books is a fun academic club that focuses on reading new or classic books and testing students' knowledge of what they read. The new list of 20 selected books is released in early June so students have a chance to read over the summer to prepare before the school year begins.
Any students in grades 4 - 12 can participate by forming a team of 2-4 members. Teams will battle each other by taking team tests on the books with the top team from each school moving on to represent Omro in the Final State Test. There will be a celebration for all participants in early Spring!
Boy's Basketball Plays Arcadia in Regional Semifinals!!
All the best to our Boy's Basketball team tonight as they take on Arcadia tonight in the Den! Remember, passes are not accepted at Regional games per WIAA tournament rules. Adults $6.00, children under 6 are Free!! Come and help us cheer on our Foxes to another victory!
A win over Arcadia will result in a Regional Final game on Saturday, March 2nd at home.

Parent Teacher Conferences will once again be offered by appointment slots on Thursday, March 7th from 3:30 - 7:00 pm after an overwhelming positive response to using appointments last fall for our parent teacher conferences. Please see parent information here on how to sign up for conferences.

Upcoming WIAA Tournaments and Entrance Fees
We are so proud of our student athletes this season for all of their hard work and successes!! With these successes come playoff tournaments and playoff games. Under WIAA, No Passes or Student ID's are allowed for WIAA Tournament Events. All Students, Spectators will have to pay the following prices to attend WIAA Basketball Regional Events:

Omro School District will be presenting an all schools musical, Wizard of Oz.
The show will take place in the Omro High School PAC on March 15th @ 7:00pm and March 16th @ 2:00pm and 7:00pm. Stay tuned for more information regarding tickets.

2024-2025 4K Enrollment Open
2024-2025 4K Enrollment is now open! If you are a resident within the School District of Omro boundaries, or plan to enroll in the School District of Omro, and have a child that is four years old on or before September 1, 2024, Omro 4K is for you!
Visit https://www.omro.k12.wi.us/o/hbpes/page/enrollment, and select "Enrollment for 4k" under the heading Enrollment for Next School Year (2024-2025). Questions should be shared with Kelly Kozlosky, 4K Program Coordinator, at kkozl@omro.k12.wi.us.
Work Permits Are Available ONLINE ONLY
A parent can access the the work permit site using these instructions. Payment is made directly to the department through the application, using a credit or debit card or by ACH direct withdrawal. Once the permit application process is complete, the Department mails a paper copy of the permit directly to the employer. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact by email at workpermits@dwd.wisconsin.gov.

Well Badger Resource Center is an information and referral (I&R) service for Wisconsin individuals and families. Information and referral services create and maintain databases of programs and services, and then make sure, through a variety of channels and outreach, that you and others in your community know about those services.
Well Badger is a one-stop connection to community, social, health, and government programs and resources — so you can find what you need, when you need it.
The Navigator is a free, confidential, online tool designed to help parents, caregivers, and professionals navigate mental and behavioral health services for children, adolescents, and young adults under the age of 21! Just answer a few questions about the child, and the Navigator provides a customized guide to connect the child with the resources and support they both need and deserve.

Wisconsin American Legion Law Enforcement Career Academy (WALLECA)
For juniors and seniors who are interested in working in law enforcement or related field. WALLECA is a 5 day camp that offers physical fitness training, class room instruction and hands on experiences. The 2024 academy is scheduled for July 29- August 2, 2024 at the Wisconsin State Patrol Training Academy at Fort McCoy. The academy is totally FREE - cadets stay in the dorms at the academy and all meals and supplies are furnished.

Job Description: We are seeking a responsible and attentive lifeguard to join our team. The ideal candidate will be able to ensure the safety of our guests while they enjoy our facilities. The lifeguard will be responsible for monitoring the pool area, enforcing safety rules, and responding to emergencies. The candidate must be able to work well in a team environment and have excellent communication skills.
Job Requirements:
15 years old (16 to be a swim instructor)
Lifeguard certification
Starting Wage: $13/hour
