Superintendent Update
Caldwell Parish Schools
Greetings Team Caldwell!
February has been quite an eventful month! As I visited each school, I was reminded of my "WHY" and encouraged by the meaningful and engaging lessons I was able to observe. It is so exciting to see firsthand how our district initiatives are being carried out at all levels.
Some of the highlights of my visits include language development and vocabulary immersion with our 3 and 4 year olds, intentional and student specific literacy activities, Accelerate small groups, engaging culminating unit activities, Zearn math from K-8, student collaboration and teamwork to solve problems, written expression strategies across content areas and a definite shift to students doing the "heavy lifting." It is evident that our teachers and leaders truly believe that being intentional and consistent with our initiatives will bring about success for our students!
Additionally, we've had so many opportunities to partner with our parents and community. The elementary schools have hosted math and literacy nights as well as the VIP dance and book fairs. It was fun to see all schools in the district celebrate National FFA Week and learn the importance of agriculture in our community. Another huge event was our Parent/Student Career Night where we partnered with the Workforce Development Board to invite 28 businesses and colleges from around the area to provide information to students and parents about career possibilities after graduation. This event exceeded our expectations and will definitely become a yearly event!
Thank you for your commitment to provide these opportunities for the students of Caldwell Parish!

Power of Public Schools
The Caldwell Parish School Board is excited to join in the celebration of National Public Schools Week happening February 26 – March 1 across the country. We are proud to be among the many public school districts across the country providing unique opportunities for our students.
National Public Schools Week celebrates the over 51 million students, 3.2 million teachers, and hundreds of thousands of specialists, administrators, and support staff working in public schools today.
Here in Caldwell Parish, over 1,500 students are currently enrolled in public schools. These students have access to a wide range of academic opportunities, such as dual enrollment, career courses, art, music, athletics and a growing STEM program. Our special education program also offers resources and supports for all students to be able to achieve academic success.
Leading up to this week, we began showcasing our CPHS Alumni and the positive impacts public schools have made in their lives. This has been a huge hit and we’d love to celebrate more of our alumni! So...what is your "Power of Public Schools" story? We are asking you to share your positive public school experiences. If you would like to be included in our campaign, please submit your information in this form and we will continue to showcase our Spartan Alumni https://forms.gle/buxfZe4hUyhJGm2d7
