Stoneleigh PTA April Newsletter

April 13th, 2024

From 4/15-4/19 we will be collecting new pajamas for Casey Cares, which is an organization which enhances the lives of critically ill children and their families by providing opportunities for family fun and engagement outside of the doctor appointments and hospital stays. We will be collecting infant - adult sizes. Bins will be in the school lobby.
We will also be collecting eclipse glasses from 4/15-4/26 on behalf of the Baltimore Hunger Project which will be donated to children in Latin America for the eclipse in August. A bin will be in the school lobby.
We are excited to welcome new students to Stoneleigh as a result of the boundary study. We will be inviting them to the Art Show, the Stoneleigh May Fair, and the pop-up book fair and giving them Stoneleigh swag bags. We will also be working on ways to engage them over the summer.

We will be holding elections for our next PTA board at the PTA meeting on 5/9. Please submit your interest by 4/15 via the google form that was shared on our Facebook page or by emailing Nominating Committee chair Jenn Auvil at jenniferauvil@gmail.com.

Submissions will be accepted until Monday April 15. They can be emailed to gbctpub@stoneleighpta.org or placed in the bin in the school office.

SES May Fair: The SES May Fair has returned! Join us on Friday, May 10th from 6-8 PM for a celebration of all things spring. Enjoy a petting zoo, face painters, magician,music, carnival games, and popcorn and cotton candy. Pizza from Pizza di Joey and Kona Ice will be available for purchase!

Our quarterly teacher appreciation event was our Treat Trolley on Friday April 12! Teachers and staff enjoyed cupcakes, snacks, candy and drinks. Planning is in full swing for Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week (May 6-10). Our theme is Back to the 90s. We are currently in the process of collecting donations in the form of cash (Venmo), gift cards, and food to stock the staff room so that we can celebrate our amazing teachers and staff all week! Please keep an eye out for PTA social media communication and Room Buddy emails as more updates continue to be shared.

Our current focus is working with the SES administration and the PTA Board to put together a plan to welcome the new students as a result of the boundary study

MM started back up for the spring on Thursday April 4th with great turn out
We are doing the same class challenge and personal challenge as we started in the fall. More information is on the PTA website.
Monday April 22 (Earth Day). Will be a special Charm day!
Finally we are always open to volunteers that are willing to help with even a day or two a month.

We extended our ordering window. The last day to order your yearbook is Friday April 12.
