March 2023
Notes from Support Staff
BMS wrapped up the month of February with our theme around respect with a RESPECT Rally. Our BMS rock band rocked the stage and grade levels all had a blast in different challenges and activities versus homerooms and grade level houses. During the month of March, we are focusing on being MINDFUL! We recognize that there can be times where we can easily get overwhelmed, stressed or just need time for ourselves. In CREW earlier this month, we talked about what helps us calm down, stay grounded and slow down. Mindful minutes are great ways to reset!
Reminders:
Another reminder from administration to students and families that students are expected to be checking in their cellphones every morning to their homeroom teacher or the office. Students should not have their cellphones on them and wireless headphones can only be wore in the classrooms with teacher permission. Please see our BMS Cellphone Policy for more information.

Attention Parents:
Will your child be entering 7th grade next year?
Maine requires students to receive two vaccinations to enter 7th grade. Documentation of a booster dose of Tdap, a vaccine that protects against diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis (whooping cough), and Meningococcal (MCV4), must be on file at the school before a student may attend. Parents of 6th graders, please provide the school an updated shot record showing proof of the Tdap and MCV4 vaccinations now in order to avoid a delay in your child’s admission for the upcoming school year.
Notices have gone home with progress reports for those students who are missing these two vaccinations. Please plan ahead as medical appointments during the summer fill very quickly. We highly recommend you contact the doctor now to obtain the missing vaccinations and send us the updated shot record.Your student does not need a well child annual physical appointment to receive these vaccinations. They can also be obtained at ConvenientMD. Please call the school nurse at 443-8270 if you have questions or need assistance. Shot records can be faxed to 386-1744.
