Dear Parents & Carers,
I hope this newsletter finds you well and looking forward to a well-deserved weekend break. Once again, I extend my heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support and commitment to our school community. It is through the exceptional partnership we share that our pupils continue to thrive and succeed.
Outstanding Attendance: I am delighted to share the fantastic news that this week marked our joint highest weekly attendance since September, reaching an impressive 98.5%! This accomplishment has propelled our Year-to-Date attendance to 97.1%, just above our yearly target. I'm thrilled to announce that Carleton Park J & I School now proudly holds the top position among the Pontefract Academies Trust Schools. Your dedication to ensuring your children are present and engaged in their education is truly commendable.
Leadership in Action: Our Year 6 Sports Leaders showcased their exceptional leadership skills this week by organising and officiating a Trust multi-skills event. The feedback received from both participants and observers was overwhelmingly positive. It's a testament to the outstanding qualities our children possess, and I am immensely proud of their accomplishments.
Book Fayre Triumph: Our school book fayre, the first since 2017, exceeded all expectations. Thanks to your support, we raised over £1000, earning a remarkable £500 worth of reading books for our school library. This incredible achievement will undoubtedly enhance the reading experience for all our pupils. Your commitment to fostering a love for reading is truly appreciated.
Exciting Week Ahead: As we look forward to the upcoming week, there are more exciting events in store. In celebration of National Science Week, we have organised a whole school science competition, and on Wednesday, a planetarium will be visiting us to provide an immersive learning experience.
Additionally, Thursday will be dedicated to celebrating World Book Day. Students will have the opportunity to dress up as their favourite book characters and participate in a range of engaging activities. Let's make it a day filled with creativity and literary joy!
Wishing You a Fantastic Weekend: Finally, I encourage you to enjoy a well-deserved weekend with your loved ones. Your ongoing support contributes significantly to the success and vibrancy of our school community. Thank you for being integral partners in your child's educational journey.
Looking forward to seeing you all on Monday for another exciting week ahead!
Best Regards,
Mr Ayre
