Teacher Appreciation: Donations Wanted!
National Teacher Appreciation Week is May 6-10 and we are making a special effort this year to express appreciation to our teachers and staff. As we plan for a wonderful appreciation week, we would love to get our parents and families involved. Here are a few ways you can help us:
- We are trying to collect short, heartfelt notes for all our teachers and would love as many as possible. If you would like to create a short message of appreciation to a teacher, write it on a note card or lined paper and deliver it to the office by May 3rd. We plan to deliver these to teachers throughout the week to brighten their day!
- We also plan to give out prizes throughout the week. We have creative ideas and special privileges planned for prizes, but we also need gift cards. If you would like to donate one or two, in any amount, please drop them off at the office by May 3rd, or email any e-gift cards to jcampbell@kingstonk12.org.
Thank you, everyone, for helping us make this a special Teacher Appreciation Week!

KES Read-a-thon: Rescheduled!
From dress-up days, to Rock and Roll assemblies, to guest readers, it is safe to say that we enjoyed March is Reading Month at KES. Our last scheduled event, the KES Read-a-thon, was canceled due to our snow day on 3.22.24.
As the KES Read-a-thon was also our spring fundraiser opportunity here at KES, we would like to reschedule this fun event for Friday, 4.12.24. In place of our usual chocolate or pizza sale fundraiser, we are opting to have our families make pledges on behalf of their KES students and the reading that they complete during the KES Read-a-thon. Family members are welcome to pledge a certain amount per page their student reads during the event, but a flat-rate donation of any amount is also appreciated! Students brought home a paper spreadsheet in March where donations could be recorded, but new copies will be sent home by your student's teacher as well. All donations and sheets are due to the KES office by Monday, April 15th.
The funds we raise each spring are used toward class field trips, as well as the purchase of materials for numerous student activities such as CARDS parties, CARDS assemblies, and other fun end-of-year celebrations and activities our students enjoy. Thank you in advance for your generosity. It is greatly appreciated!
Kindergarten, Young 5's, and Preschool (GSRP) Enrollment Night
We are excited to welcome the parents of next year's Kindergarteners and Young 5's to our annual Kindergarten Enrollment Night on Thursday, April 11th from 6pm-7pm in the KES Cafeteria. Along with our newest Kindergarten and Young 5's students, we are also welcoming the families of our Preschool (GSRP) students, as well as potential Cardinal Center families. Please put this date on your calendar, as it is the best opportunity to sign your students up and ask any questions you have about all of our early childhood programs offered at KES!
