MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Atkinson families,
In the coming weeks, I am providing a few opportunities for you to learn more about how we have been using funds that have been raised previously. The Run for Atkinson, Yearbook fund, field trip funds, and other PTA donations to the school have helped to support a variety of enrichments and supports. If you are interested in learning more ahead of this year's Run for Atkinson, please join me at one of these:

PTA NEWSLETTER & GAME NIGHT FRIDAY
Read the latest PTA Newsletter HERE.
Don't forget this Friday (April 5 at 6:30pm) is the Atkinson Family Game Night! Come to the Atkinson cafeteria where we will provide a variety of board and card games to enjoy together (families are invited to bring your own favorites as well!). We are planning to have some pizza slices and drinks for sale so that you can have dinner while you play! Hope to see you there for a fun family evening!
LOST AND FOUND
Please also remember to put your child's name in coats and sweatshirts. We return anything labeled with a name to its owner before we donate.
PE REMINDER
As the weather gets nicer, we will be doing a lot of activities for PE outside. One of our upcoming units for grades 1–5 is "foot manipulatives" (kicking/soccer). Kinders will be starting on our bikes next week! I know that nice weather typically means an increase of cute open-toed shoes, but open-toed shoes and kicking soccer balls do not mix well. Please ask your student what days they have PE, and to try to bring PE shoes on those days. I have several students that just keep their PE shoes in their backpacks, and they change from their cute sandals into their PE shoes. What a great way to be safe and responsible!
Since we will be outside, it is also a good idea to remind them to bring their water bottles to school and to PE so they can quickly get water as needed. Thank you! - Mrs. Sanchez
LUNCH VOLUNTEERS NEEDED ON THURSDAYS
We are in need of new parent volunteers to serve lunch to students on Thursdays for both first lunch (11:35 a.m.–12 p.m.) and second lunch (12:05–12:30 p.m.) after spring break. Are you willing and able to help us? You get a free lunch and get to see all the adorable children in the lunch line!
DÍA DE LOS NIÑOS - VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
Our Día de los Niños event is coming up soon and we are still looking for a few more volunteers to help with these activities: face painting, balloon animals, games and snow cones. Please sign up sign up here to volunteer if you can.
