Goals
SEL Goal: Ridgewood School will complete at least 25 paws on our school paw chart by using a level 0 voice in the hallways.
Academic Goal: By May 17th 2024, 80% of students will show growth on their word work assessments.
Academic Goal: By May 17th, 2024, 75% of students will be at meets/exceeds on the standard chosen by each grade level.

ST Math Challenge Winner
For the 3rd Quarter, our building was competing to see which class had the most puzzles achieved for ST Math. Congratulations to Mr. Lack's class! They were the overall winner of our ST Challenge.
John Deere is making 3D JiJi the penguin key chains to give to the winning class and purchasing Whitey's Chipper Sandwiches. Thank you John Deere!
IAR
Our 3rd & 4th Grade will taking the Illinois Assessment of Readiness Test March 25-April 4.
The IAR Test is a computer-based standardized assessment for all students in Grades 3 - 8 that is designed to measure students' progress toward the the Common Core State Standards in English Language Arts and Mathematics.
Please ensure that your 3rd or 4th Grader:
-Brings their Chromebook to school charged on these days
-Has their headphones at schools
-Gets a good night's sleep
-Eats a good breakfast at home or at school
"Dex the Heart of a Hero" Dance Me a Story Program
2nd Grade will be viewing “Dex the Heart of a Hero” Dance Me a Story Program put on by Ballet Quad Cities on Wednesday, April 3rd from 8:45-9:30 in the Ridgewood gym.
Solar Eclipse
John Deere Greenhouse Event
On Thursday, April 11th and Friday, April 12th, Marilyn, from John Deere will be coming to do a Greenhouse Event with our First Graders. Students will learn about how Marilyn takes care of the plants at John Deere and they will have have the opportunity to decorate a pot of their own and plant herb seeds.
Spring Music Program
Save the Date
We will have a Spring Music Program this year held on Thursday, April 24th at 5:30. We will be holding the music program at UT. Please see the attached flier below for more details.
District Elementary Family Engagement Night
The district is holding an Elementary Family Engagement Night for our families on April 25th from 5:00-7:00! It will be held at the EMSD Administration Building. We hope to see you there!
Ridgewood Reading Night
We will have a Reading Night held at Ridgewood on Wednesday, May 1st from 4:00-5:00. More information will be coming soon!
Lexia
Your child uses Lexia Core 5 at school. This is a fun computer-based reading program. The activities in Core 5 support and build on our classroom curriculum and focus on developing reading skills in six areas: phonological awareness, phonics, structural analysis, fluency,
vocabulary, and comprehension. When your child levels up, they earn a certificate at school. Thanks for all your hard work supporting our students in reading! For more information, click the links below:
