PRINCIPAL'S UPDATE
Dear Eagle Crest Families,
Late Start Wednesday was a fantastic opportunity for our staff to dive deep into professional development. Since January 2023, we've been working closely with district math coach Carolyn Clifford, and her guidance has been invaluable. Together, we've made significant strides in our math instruction, focusing on student engagement, fostering mathematical discourse, and nurturing problem-solving skills. This week, Carolyn joined us to streamline our processes for sharing student work and explore how we can effectively use examples in the classroom. We're thrilled to incorporate these strategies into our teaching! 📚✨
We also dedicated time to enhancing reading fluency across grade levels with our literacy specialist, Tayler Lowman. Our team split into grade bands to tailor our learning to the needs of our students. All of the insights gained are immediately actionable in our classrooms. 📖🔍
We recognize that changes to our schedule can disrupt routines, and we're grateful for the support from our families and community.
Wishing you all a fantastic weekend!
Warmly,
Amanda

DEAN OF STUDENT'S UPDATE
Hello Eagle Crest Families!
We're eagerly anticipating our upcoming Mwebaza Day Celebration, set for March 15th at 8:55am! This cherished tradition holds a special place in our hearts as we come together to strengthen the bonds between our school and our beloved sister school, Mwebaza Annex, in Uganda.
Mwebaza Day is more than just an event; it's a celebration of cross-cultural connections, unity, and the spirit of global friendship. It's a time to honor the diversity that enriches our lives and to foster understanding and empathy across continents.
All of our students, along with our Mwebaza Club, have been hard at work preparing songs and presentations. Every student, from the youngest to the oldest, is involved in showcasing their talents and sharing their enthusiasm for this special day.
We're extending a warm invitation to all families to join us virtually for Mwebaza Day via this link. Together, we'll embark on a journey of cultural exchange, learning, and mutual respect. Let's embrace the opportunity to connect, grow, and celebrate the beauty of our global community.
All the best,
Lindsey Cheney
