Eyes on the Sky for a Rare Lifetime Opportunity
Students and staff watched with amazement as the sun nearly vanished behind the moon during the April 8th eclipse.
While an average of two solar eclipses happen every year, a particular spot on Earth is only in the path of totality every 375 years on average.
The next total eclipse in the U.S. won’t happen until March 30, 2033, when totality will reportedly only cross parts of Alaska. The next eclipse in the 48 contiguous states is expected to occur on Aug. 12, 2044, with parts of Montana and North Dakota experiencing totality.
Our Gratitude For Coach Clark’s Leadership & Impact
The Bettendorf Community School District thanks Coach Clark for his 12 years of service as the Bettendorf High School Boys’ Basketball Head Coach and his tremendous impact on so many student-athletes.
“I greatly appreciate his dedication, positive impact, and leadership that he has provided for our student-athletes,” said Zach Shay, Activities Director. His guidance has been invaluable in teaching the game of basketball and life lessons. His influence has been instrumental in the success of the Bettendorf High School Boys Basketball Program. I wish Coach Clark all the best in his future endeavors.”
When Clark began his journey, his primary focus was to contribute to basketball through the players here at Bettendorf.
“My aim was to pass on the knowledge I had acquired from the previous coaches here at Bettendorf and from my own experiences as an athlete,” said Coach Clark. “Throughout this endeavor, I have had the privilege of working alongside some of the most dedicated, knowledgeable, and hardworking staff one could hope for. I am grateful for their unwavering support and camaraderie, and I will miss coaching with them." Learn more
