Message from East Hill Principal
Dear East Hill Families,
Welcome to the month of March! We sure had some interesting weather this week which included some spring and some heavy snow and wind! We are all enjoying the sunshine today. Our students didn't miss a beat and were working hard in all areas. I especially enjoyed watching our 3rd grade students in art class painting as they work on another step to their layered art pictures they are creating with Mrs. Moser-Vogler! (pictures below)
Congratulations to Ms. York's class for earning the Golden Spatula Award for the month of February! The students were safe, responsible, and respectful in the cafeteria while they enjoyed eating their lunches- great job!
Just a couple reminders of upcoming events with more information below-
- If you have a child that will be starting kindergarten at EH in the fall please get them registered so we can add them to our mailing list for upcoming events.
- Mark your calendars for the Makerspace Day at EH on Saturday, March 23. This PTA event is for the whole family and was a huge success last year!
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend,
~Susan
Congratulations to this week's Wildcat WOW Prize Winners!

Hello from the PTA and happy March!
Thank you for all of the support towards the ImmuniTEA Bar in the staff room. We were able to keep it stocked for the entire month of February. The whole staff was very grateful for all of their cozy treats!

We are looking forward to seeing our engineering friends from Barton & Loguidice, our local libraries, and the East Hill Robotics Club, plus some new friends like the Central New York Ballet and Champions GR8 KIDZ. **We are asking for donations of 16-20 oz. plastic bottles if you have any at home you would like to get rid of! Thank you!**
Looking ahead, April 8 is the solar eclipse. The PTA has purchased special solar eclipse glasses for all of the students at East Hill. Stay tuned for more information about when those will be coming home!
If you haven’t already, please make your yearbook purchase soon! The deadline to get your order in is 4/1.

Universal Pre-Kindergarten Registration Will Open on March 11, 2024
West Genesee partners with local Community-Based Organizations (CBO) for its Pre-K program.
To be eligible for UPK during the 2024-2025 school year, a child must:
- Have a birthdate between December 2, 2019 and December 1, 2020
- Reside in the West Genesee Central School District
In the event that more registrations are received than can be accommodated, the District will conduct an initial selection process via an open lottery in which children will be selected at random.
Those children who have completed the registration process by May 1, 2024 will be part of the initial selection process.
Families who were part of the initial selection process will be called in order of selection and informed:
- whether their child has been accepted to the program, and
- which site (including hours of the program) is available for their child;
OR
- where their child is on the waiting list.
Families will be contacted by May 2-3, 2024.
If at any point after the initial selection process there are more students registered than seats available, students will be placed on the waiting list in the order that their registration was completed.
Transportation to and from the program is the responsibility of the parents/guardians, and students must attend the program five days a week to maintain their seat.
Look for registration information on the Central Registration webpage at:
http://www.westgenesee.org/district-services/registration/. If you have any questions, email the Central Registrar at centralregistrar@westgenesee.org, or call Central Registration at at (315) 487-4683.
When registering, parents should be prepared to upload the following:
- proof of residency (ie. mortgage or property statement or signed lease agreement)
- proof of age
Students to Receive Free Breakfast and Lunch Meals
We are pleased to announce that all students enrolled at West Genesee CSD will be able to receive a FREE breakfast and lunch meal at school beginning December 1.
This implementation is a result of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) expanding access to the federal Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). CEP allows eligible schools participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs to offer school meals at no charge to all students.
What does this mean for your child(ren) attending the school(s) identified above?
Effective 12/1/2023, all students enrolled at West Genesee CSD will be able to receive one free breakfast and one free lunch each school day regardless of the family’s household income. Milk is free with a full meal. No further action is required of you.
If you have any further questions, please contact Food Service at 315-487-4661.
Please click here to read a message to parents about free meals for students.
