Estimadas familias de James John,
Fue un placer ver a los padres en nuestra reunión de la PTA el jueves. Fue maravilloso compartir el trabajo que nos hemos centrado este año y nuestros planes para el año escolar 2024/25.
Todavía tenemos trabajo delante de nosotras y la cantidad de experiencia y perseverancia que tienen los adultos en nuestro edificio es inspiradora. En el tiempo que nos queda este año escolar, solidificaremos nuestros valores fundamentales y antes de terminar, todavía tenemos un par de grupos de afinidad que entrevistar. Los valores que nuestra comunidad ha destacado son: integridad, perseverancia, pertenencia, crecimiento, comunidad y bondad. Gracias a todos los que estarán participando y han participado en este trabajo.
Un amable recordatorio sobre nuestra política sobre refrigerios y bebidas azucaradas. Tratamos de ser consistentes al brindar opciones saludables para nuestros estudiantes aquí en la Primaria James John y si bien los cumpleaños y otras celebraciones son una oportunidad para celebrar con pastelitos o pasteles, les pedimos a los padres que no envíen a los estudiantes a la escuela con dichos artículos. Causa confusión y puede deshacer el trabajo que nuestros maestros han realizado para mantener la coherencia para los estudiantes. Gracias y muy apreciado.
El jueves 23 de abril tendremos un simulacro de terremoto/incendio a la 1:30 pm. Estos simulacros pueden ser aterradores para algunos estudiantes; ayúdenos a recordarles en casa que realizamos estos simulacros para brindarles a los estudiantes oportunidades de practicar en caso de una emergencia real. El viernes 26 de abril tendremos nuestra Asamblea de Estudiante del Mes y nuestro Consejo Estudiantil James John entrevistó a los estudiantes y votaron para tener también el Día del Pijama. Será un viernes apasionante.

Dear James John Families,
Great seeing parents at our PTA meeting Thursday evening. It was wonderful sharing the work we have been focused on this year and our plans for the 2024/25 school year.
We still have work to do and the amount of expertise and perseverance adults have in our building is inspiring. In the remaining time we have this year, we will be solidifying our core values and before we are done, we still have a couple of affinity groups to interview. Values which our community has highlighted are - Integrity, Perseverance, Belonging, Growth, Community and Kindness. Thank you all that will be participating and have participated in this work.
Gentle reminder about our policy on sugary snacks and drinks. We try to be consistent about providing healthy options for our students here at James John Elementary and while birthdays and other celebrations are an opportunity to celebrate with cupcakes or cake, we ask parents to please not send students to school with said items. It causes confusion and can undo the work that our teachers have put in place to maintain consistency for students.. Thank you and much appreciated.
Thursday April 23rd we will be having an Earthquake/Fire Drill at 1:30 pm. These drills can be frightening for some students, please help us in providing reminders at home, that we conduct these drills to provide students opportunities to practice in case of an actual emergency. Friday April 26th we will be having our Student of the Month Assembly and our James John Student Council interviewed students and they have voted to also have Pajama Day. It’s going to be an exciting Friday.
