A Note from Mrs. Pitts
Dear RES Families,
As you may know by now, I WILL be returning to RES as the principal next year and I am thrilled! I want to thank all those who supported me through the Assistant Superintendent search process and, please know, that your kind words and encouragement were appreciated beyond words. I am honored and very privileged to have been chosen as the school leader of such a magical school and am looking forward to keeping the momentum going that we have gained over the last two years!
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
With MUCH respect and appreciation,
Warmly,
Michelle Pitts

Attendance Letters
As you know, we document student attendance throughout the school year. At the start of the day, this information helps us to ensure that all students are where they are supposed to be and safe. Throughout the school year, this information can be extremely helpful for understanding a child’s experience at school and whether there are patterns or indicators of challenges or disruption. Ultimately, being at school with their peers and school community is critical to a child’s success academically and socially. With all of this in mind, Lori Arsenault and I will be reaching out to those families whose students have missed over ten absences this year the week after vacation.
We do not want this to feel punitive or judgemental in nature. We are hoping to extend support and open communication with you to see if there is anything we can do to help your child be here at school. We understand that illnesses, family circumstances, and the occasional need for a day off are a reality in all of our lives; however, we are always concerned about the social, emotional and academic impacts that can arise with numerous absences.
Thank you for your understanding,
Michelle Pitts and Lori Arsenault
Riptide Reserve: Important Update
Hello, Families!
I hope everyone is finally enjoying some beautiful spring weather! We wanted to let you know that Riptide Reserve has had some significant damage due to the wet weather this past winter and the two unexpected storms with high winds these past two weeks. We will be utilizing the space sparingly until we can figure out a plan to remedy the issues. We are hoping to organize a Community Clean-up at some point after vacation. Please look for more information in the coming weeks. Rest assured that students WILL be going outside. We have lots of gardens that need building and tending to. Thank you so much for your understanding and support.
Sincerely,
Eileen Murphy (and Michelle Pitts)

Family To Do List: A NEW SECTION!
- We are collecting plastic bottles for the bottom of the beds in the pollinator garden to help with drainage.
- If anyone splits any plants and wants to donate them to our two new gardens, we would love them!
- GRILL MASTERS NEEDED! We would like a few volunteers to grill for the students on field day!!!! We think it will be so much fun to have a BBQ that day. It is on May 31. If you are interested, please email Michelle Pitts at mpitts@sau50.org.

World Language Health
Students practiced their knowledge of food groups, healthy eating, and French with a fun and interactive game called DoorDash in World Language Health with Mrs. Warden and Madame Piper.
Here's a fun rhyme to practice at home:
Le lait is milk, le fromage is cheese, both of those foods are dairy!
At home Challenge: Ask your child to tell you a fruit in French!
Jump Rope for Heart

Lunch with Students
We do allow one family member at a time to have lunch with their child(ren) but this is very optional and we don't want families to feel pressured to attend.
- Email resoffice@sau50.org if you would like to attend with the date/time (starting October 1). It is important to anticipate who will be in the building. We love these opportunities for students and their family members but we will always put safety first.
- We do have a focus during this time...eating for energy and brain power!
- Family members must meet the child in the cafeteria and leave from the cafeteria.
- Lunch times are:
Kindergarten-11:45-12:10
First Grade-12:15-12:40
Second Grade-12:15-12:40
Third Grade- 11:15-11:40
Fourth Grade-11:15-11:40
