Important Reminders
Reminder: Daylights Savings on March 10th!
Daylight savings time is upon us! On Sunday, March 10th the clocks spring forward one hour. This can make waking up for school on Monday a little difficult. Here are some tips to help ease your way into the time change!
- Start slow: On Friday (today), put your child to bed 20 minutes earlier than their usual bedtime. Wake up on Saturday (3/9) 20 minutes earlier than usual. On Saturday night, put them to bed 40 minutes earlier than their usual bedtime...that way on Sunday (after the time change) they are only 20 minutes off of their new schedule. This gives their bodies some time to adjust to the time change.
- Stay Consistent: On Sunday night, put them to bed at the normal time ON THE CLOCK. Try not to let them stay up an extra hour just because the clocks moved forward.
- Get some fresh air: Getting outside and moving their body around during the daytime this weekend can help your student rest easier as they transition to a time change.
- Keep the Routine: Keep your bedtime routine the same! Do you have your child take a bath, brush their teeth, then read a bedtime story every night before bed? Keep it the same! Routine will help your child's brain know that it is time to wind down.
Baker Station
Parents, please remember to notify Baker Station any time your child will not be attending their regularly scheduled days. The school cannot be responsible for notifying them when your child is ill or has left school early.

Davis & Richmond Schools Families! We want to say a HUGE “Thank you!” to our students, staff, and donors for this incredible Davis Richmond Dance Fit fundraiser.
Here are our final stats:
💲We raised over $11,000 for the direct support of the integration of impactful SEL, academic materials, and experiences (such as author visits, field trips, etc.) into our schools. This will directly impact our students and staff!
🥳Students learned how to live with character during the World Changer Workshop each day. This led up to an exciting Dance Fit event, which was held during the school day this week. We celebrated our community coming together and created unforgettable memories at this school-wide assembly. Please enjoy the pictures below!
❤️Thank you for your support of our school. We’re grateful for our Davis & Richmond Schools community!

5-Essentials for PARENTS
- Parents, please take the opportunity to submit your feedback by completing the 5essentials survey for D303. The Parent Survey is open from January 23, 2024, through March 29, 2024. All responses are confidential and will never be connected to you or your child. To take the survey, visit survey.5-essentials.org/Illinois and select the parent survey. A supplemental report will also be generated if at least 20 percent of a school’s parents complete the survey. Thank you!
The District 303 Board has approved boundary maps for elementary, middle, and high schools. Maps are effective with the 2024-2025 school year beginning this fall. The Board's decision completes a process that began last fall to reduce school overcrowding and help to ensure equitable learning experiences across the District. District 303 had contracted with demographer RSP & Associates to create concept maps based on Board-approved guiding principles and community feedback. Please see the parent notice from Superintendent Gordon to learn more and review the approved maps.

Arrival Time Procedures
- For drop-off, we have a designated drop-off lane available.
- If you prefer to park and drop off your child, please utilize designated parking spots.
- Please refrain from using handicapped spots or dropping off on the street unless you are in the designated drop-off lane. This helps prevent traffic delays and ensures safety for all.
- If you wish to drop off without parking, kindly use the designated drop-off lane.
- Additionally, we kindly ask that you refrain from making U-turns after dropping off your child. Instead, please consider circling the block, which contributes to both safety and smooth traffic flow.
- Your cooperation in making morning arrivals safe is greatly appreciated.
Empower Showcase Cardboard Take Home
Our Empower Showcase was a great success and now we are ready to send the amazing projects home. Many of these projects are quite large and can not go on a bus or be carried home by a walker or bike rider. They may need to be taken home in a car. If your student would like to be the one to take their project home, step 1 is for an adult to fill out this form. The deadline to fill out the form is March 17th. From there, if more than one student wants any project, I will randomly choose from the students who fill out the form. If your student is one who will be taking home a project, I will be in contact with you the week of the 18th. Please contact me with any questions! Amy Dixon: amy.dixon@d303.org
