Growth and Achievement Award Assemblies
Growth and Achievement Award Assemblies will be held on Thursday, April 25th in the APR. Similar to last quarter, we will have families in attendance and offer a zoom link to watch the awards.
- Grades K/1 @ 9:05-9:40
- Grades 2/3 @ 9:50-10:30
- Grades 4/5 @ 2:30-3:10
As you know the MP 3 Growth and Achievement Awards Ceremony is quickly approaching. Here are the action items for you:
- Classroom Teachers: Choose students that have earned non-academic awards and add their name, along with what award they have earned on this spreadsheet.
- Classroom Teachers: Send home family invitations to student’s that have earned awards by 4/22
- Classroom Teachers: Have awards signed and ready to present for the Ceremony on the 25th.
- Specialists: Choose students that have earned a high-5 award (One per grade level) and add their name, along with the award they have earned on this spreadsheet.
- Specialists: Have awards signed, filled out, and placed back into Mr. Mizelle’s box by 4/23
Mizelle will place awards and invitations into your boxes as soon as they arrive from Copy Plus. The ceremony will run very similar to the MP 2 Ceremony. We are asking for one small change. If you have any students receiving more than one award, we ask that you annonce/call them up and give all of their awards at one time. This may also include the High-5 award from specials. I will give the specialists High-5 awards to you by 4/24.
If you have any questions or concerns, please let Mr. Mizelle know.
Move Up Morning
Move Up Morning is an opportunity for grade-level teams to share expectations with students as they prepare for the next school year. It is a chance for students to ask questions about the next grade level. Each grade level will visit the next year's teachers.

Instrumental Music & Chorus Concert - May 13th, 7pm at RHS
IT'S CONCERT SEASON!
Meadow Hall 4th and 5th graders in instrumental music and chorus are excited to show off what they have learned at the spring concert on Monday, May 13th. We will have an in-school concert for students during the day, and then will have our evening concert for families, staff, and community members at 7:00pm in the Rockville High School auditorium.
Please remind your students of proper audience etiquette for the in-school concert (quiet and listening while students are playing, clapping at the end of songs, and congratulating performers on a job well done), and come support our students for a musical evening! If you are available to help out with shuffling groups of kids and supervising those waiting to play during the day or at RHS in the evening, please let myself (Isabela Rey) and Maestro (EJ Wogaman) know. We appreciate your support of the arts here at Meadow Hall!
Title I Info
We learned about Title I for next year at our last staff meeting. See the linked slideshow if you weren't at the meeting to learn about what this means for our school.
ESOL Isolation
The Minority Scholars Program (MSP) hosted its first Youth Anti-Racist Film Festival on February 24 at the AFI Silver Theatre and Cultural Center. The goal was "to encourage, harness the energy of, and give voice to other students as a creative means to push for positive change in our school system". Twelve films produced by MCPS students were presented. The following films won first, second, and third prizes.
This film provide opportunities to bring in voices that may not always be heard. Rockville High School won an award for their video!!
See this Equity Matters issue for the full story.

Mad Science
Please send out the permission slip and payment information on Tuesday, 4/23. Extra copies can be found in the workroom.
We are encouraging all families to pay online- the directions are attached to the permission slip- if they need support, they can contact the office.
When students bring back the permission slip, please indicate it somehow (placing an X or Y) in the “permission slip” column next to their name with the date returned on this sheet. Ms. Ainsworth will reconcile the list of those who paid online before the workshops. If students bring in cash or check, teachers need to fill out this form AND record the amount/date on the sheet under the correct heading (“cash amt” or “check amt”) All money must be brought to Renifer by 1:30pm on the day they bring it in.
The cost of the workshop is $9.
Autism Spirit Week

School Nutrition Employee Appreciation Week
The School Nutrition Association has announced April 29–May 3, 2024, as the Annual School Nutrition Employee Appreciation Week. Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) has an outstanding food and nutrition program. Last school year, more than 16 million meals were served to Montgomery County school students participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast programs, the After-School Snack, At-risk Supper, and the Summer Meals programs. During the last year, school food and nutrition services personnel have relentlessly navigated unprecedented food shortages and supply chain disruptions to serve meals while creating menus and new recipes that honor the diversity and cultures of our students and families. This school year, more than 11.7 million meals have been served as of February 29, 2024. This commitment to MCPS students is a testimony of the valuable contribution made by school food and nutrition services personnel each year.
