Principal's Message
Dear Eccles Families and Caregivers,
We have an incredible Classified Staff! They do so many things for our school and community. Our classified staff include:
Office Staff
Every day, our office staff handles calls, interpretation, arrival and dismissal of students, registration, dispensing medications, providing medical support, scheduling, creating newsletters, budgeting, supporting staff payroll and so much more.
Kitchen Staff
Every day, our nutrition services team provides nourishing breakfasts and lunches! They actively clean and follow health protocols to ensure our food is safe and healthy. They work hard to make sure they are prepared for the day’s meals and successfully feed hundreds of Pre-K through 6th grade students every day. And they are always up to host special events.
Pre-school Staff
In partnership with the Clackamas Education Service District, our HeadStart Pre-school has added a wonderful program to the Eccles School community. Our Pre-school staff is a big part of that. They welcome our youngest Tigers to the school setting and teach them academic concepts along with school routines and skills of working with others. It is great to see our pre-school staff working patiently with our kiddos and saying “Hi!” to our current Tigers who are former Headstart students.
Instructional Assistants
Every day this group fulfills a wide range of responsibilities. They supervise lunches and recess, support student learning in the classroom, support student behavior, work with students receiving special education, support English Learners, and so much more. This group of skilled individuals has created routines that teach our children the skills to be successful students and operate our school in a safe and respectful manner. They also prioritize building relationships with students to help them feel happy and proud.
Information Technology
The IT team has been extra busy this year, installing new equipment to improve student learning experiences. Not only do they troubleshoot any daily technology difficulties, the IT department supports our security and many of our school’s operational features.
Custodial Staff
We have the best building engineer and evening custodian! They care so much about each of our students and the condition of our school. They work diligently to take care of our space with a focus on how this affects our students. The daily maintenance of our school includes too many items to list here, but I will say that there is pride in our school and desire to provide the very best learning environment possible.
Bus Drivers
My father-in-law drives a school bus so our bus drivers have a special place in my heart. Successfully driving our buses while simultaneously managing students is a challenging job. I am so appreciative of their skill and care for our students.
We have had a good time this week saying thank you to our classified staff for the vital role they play in running our school. It’s always a good time to say thank you!
Sincerely,
Kelly

Thank you for helping take care of our school library books!
CARE Award Nominations
Each month, Canby School District and the Canby Kiwanis Club will highlight a different school in our district and will recognize a staff member from that school with the CARE Award. Eccles will be highlighted during the month of May. So, if you know of an Eccles staff member who has made a difference in your life, the life of a child you know, or in the community, please consider nominating them for the CARE Award.
