Principal's Message
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I hope this message finds you well. As we approach the end of the school year, I wanted to share some important information with you regarding the upcoming spring MAP assessment that your child will be participating in.
The Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) assessment is a valuable tool that helps us understand your child's academic progress and growth throughout the year. These assessments provide us with insights that help us tailor our instruction (ex. Milestones Test preparation) to better meet the individual needs of each student. It is not meant to be a source of stress but rather a tool to help us better support your child's academic journey.
Spring MAP testing is an excellent opportunity for teachers to lead students in powerful reflection. In the fall, students set MAP goals. In the winter, students monitored their growth and revisited their goals. In the spring, students can look back at their growth over the year and reflect. While it is important to keep in mind that a single MAP score is just a snapshot of one moment in time, a student's personal data trend can reveal much more about how they are growing. This is an excellent time to celebrate all the skills students have gained and formulate a game plan for increasing personal growth next year.
If you have any questions or concerns about the MAP assessment or your child's academic progress, please do not hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher or the school administration. We are here to support you and your child every step of the way.
Thank you for your continued partnership in your child's education. Together, we can help your child reach their full potential and achieve academic success.
Warm regards,
Will Zwingmann, Ed.S.
Principal
