Argyle ISD School Board Briefs
Last night, Argyle ISD held its monthly regular board meeting. The AISD School Board met at 5:00 p.m. for an executive session prior to the open meeting. We are providing you with School Board Briefs and hope this valuable information on agenda and action items helps you to be a well-informed Argyle ISD community member.
Our Board of Trustees conducted the open portion of the regularly scheduled monthly board meeting at 6:00 p.m. President Sam Slaton established a quorum. We began our meeting with a group of special guests from Argyle High School's American Sign Language Class (ASL) as they led us in our Pledges to the Flags and Moment of Silence. We loved having our Eagles join us!
Following the call to order, Assistant Superintendent Dr. Dawn Jordan presented the public hearing of the Texas Academic Performance Report (TAPR). This is an annual report provided to districts by the Texas Education Agency. The public hearing can be viewed in the video recording of the meeting.
During the Consent portion of the Board Agenda, the Board approved a series of items related to finance & operations. A full list of consent items can be viewed in the released agenda.

Superintendent’s Report
During the Facility Rental Update, Chief Financial Officer Mrs. Liz Stewart presented an update to the facility rental process governed by board policy GKD (LOCAL). This update included findings and recommendations from an internal review regarding contracts and rates for the rental of eligible AISD facilities.
During the Information portion of the Board Agenda, the Board was presented with a series of items to discuss and consider. No action was taken on these agenda items.

Finally, during the Discussion and Action portion of the Board Agenda, the Board approved the following:
Stadium Special Event Traffic Management Plan as required by the Town of Flower Mound
Addition of Adaptive Swings on the Elementary School Playgrounds

Our next regular board meeting is scheduled for Monday, March 25, 2024. The open portion of the meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. Additionally, the Board of Trustees and AISD Administration will hold the second 2024-2025 budget board workshop on March 4, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. All regular board meetings and special board meetings with action items are live-streamed and recorded.
