Our spring iReady testing window has opened. Every student will participate in testing to determine their growth throughout the school year. While our students are accustomed to testing each year, this year is different because the district has partnered with iReady to provide our assessment three times throughout the school year. Why is that important? Students are already working inside the iReady platform each day as they complete lessons that are tailored to their individual learning path. That means that the assessments we take (fall, winter, and spring) feel like a part of students' everyday learning experience. Our assessments are aligned and are no longer an "event" but rather something that feels part of their everyday routine. Not only does this help to lessen testing anxiety but it provides consistency throughout the year.

Please encourage your child to do their best during this assessment. This data will carry our students into next school year and inform our teachers of any gaps that need to be filled prior to and after that transition.

Online registration for the 24-25 school year is officially OPEN! Our goal is to get ALL of our current families to complete their registration before leaving for summer break.

There are a couple ways you can complete this:

• Look for the "Student Registration" button at the top right of the district homepage or our school webpage.
• Access it using Parent Portal either on the app on your phone or through the school or district webpages.

Help spread the word and get as many of our families registered as possible!

Reminder: When visiting the school, all visitors must have their ID with them. Visitors must have their physical ID. Pictures of ID on your phone are not accepted.

You have likely heard about the Right at School childcare program that is coming to BCPS. Lebanon Junction will be a site for this program, offering before and after school care. To read more information about this program check out THIS LINK.

How are schools allowed to use their Title 1 money?

Title 1 funds can only be used for specific things as mandated by law. Schools are allowed to supplement their learning programs, but they cannot purchase new curriculum. LJES chooses to spend the majority of our Title 1 funds on staffing to provide students greater access to adults in order to receive the individualized help they need. The individuals we hire for these positions work with students who are below grade level to catch them up on skills they have not yet mastered. Sometimes, they meet with students outside of the classroom and other times they join the class and assist 'in the moment' as students work on their classroom assignments.

The remaining Title 1 funds from our budget are used to provide professional learning for our staff so they are knowledgeable in best practice strategies for meeting students' needs.
