Hello Primary Pups!
A Note from Mrs. Bagarozza (Mrs. B)
Hello Primary Pups,
March has been a very exciting month! Your children have enjoyed many fun events including most recently the egg hunt and the Spring Bonnet Parade. I want to give a big thank you to the PTA for providing the eggs and the decorations for the parade. Be sure to review this entire newsletter so you can see the photos and videos from those events!
Next Wednesday, April 3rd is Paraprofessional Appreciation Day! Since we won't be in school, I would like to take the time now to shine a light on our wonderful paraprofessionals at Wall Primary. They are exceptional in every way - from coming early to staying late, to helping with projects, setting up centers, and making sure each child at Wall Primary has support in whatever way they may need! Sending a big THANK YOU to Ms. Jacki, Ms. Kerry, Ms. Judy, Ms. Beth, Ms. Loretta, Ms. Havens, Ms. Tara, Ms. Kim, Ms. Yvonne, and Ms. Karen! We appreciate you and everything you do!
As we enter April, there are many things to look forward to here at WPS. I would like to draw your attention to the fact that the PTA is planning a "Spring Fling to Celebrate Autism" at Wall Intermediate in the cafeteria on Friday, April 26 from 6 to 7 pm. There will be more information coming after the break - so make sure you save the day and stay tuned for the details! There will also be a spring book fair in early May and before you know it, graduation for our exiting 4 year olds will be here! Please continue to stay up to date on our school events by reviewing these newsletters as well as the information sent home from your child's teacher. I am looking forward to a busy, but fun filled spring at Wall Primary!
Please remember that we are off tomorrow, March 29th until Sunday, April 7th for spring break. We will return to school on Monday, April 8th for a regularly scheduled week. There is a solar eclipse on Monday, April 8th. You should have received a letter about this via email yesterday afternoon. For reference, It is shared below as well.
I hope that you and your families enjoy a fun and restful spring break!
Sincerely,
Samantha Bagarozza

More Syllable Awareness Activities
Syllables are one of the building blocks of phonological awareness, which is crucial for early literacy development. Teaching children to recognize and segment syllables in words helps them become more proficient readers and writers. It is easier for students to orally blend syllables, like “butt/er/fly” and say “butterfly”, than it is to orally blend phonemes like “d/o/g” to say “dog”. When we teach these phonological awareness skills, we should start with syllables. Here are some syllable counting videos you can watch with your child.

Student Wellness
LIVE TO GIVE teaches that life’s abundance moves in cycles. In order to receive love, respect, kindness, etc. one must be willing to give those things to those around them. This Mindset shows that living to give requires one to stretch themselves, make a difference and receive gracefully, and by doing so, a legacy will be created for others to follow.
4 Key Components in this Mindset include:
- Stretch Yourself
- Make a Difference
- Receive Gracefully
- Create a Legacy
