BRUNSON, STAVER ARE HERB KOHL WINNERS
#PointerNation is thrilled to announce that Mrs. Erika Brunson (Middle/High School Counselor) and Mrs. Kristin Staver (High School English Teacher) have been named prestigious Teacher Fellows by the Herb Kohl Educational Foundation!
Since 2017, an impressive eight of our amazing staff members have been recognized with Herb Kohl honors, which is incredible for any district, let alone a small school! Brunson and Staver are the only two Teacher Fellows honored in all of CESA 3's 31 districts this year.

4TH GRADE CAPITOL VISIT
Our 4th graders had a great trip to the Wisconsin State Capitol last week -- thanks for the warm welcome Representative Todd Novak! 4th grade is the big year students learn in depth about our state's history and government.

READY FOR SPRING
These kids are ready for spring! We can’t wait to leave winter behind! (But it looks like we may have to wait a little longer...)
CHOIR IN NYC
Our High School Choir had a great time in New York City! They visited Ellis Island, Statue of Liberty, 9/11 Memorial, Chinatown, Little Italy, American Museum of Natural History, Central Park, performed at Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine, saw 'Spamalot' on Broadway, Herald Square, the Empire State Building, Rockefeller Center, Radio City Music Hall, St. Patrick's Cathedral, Times Square, and more!
WKOW VISIT
Meteorologist Alexis Clemons at WKOW 27 had a great morning recently with some of our 9th and 10th graders! They got to talk about what goes into putting a newscast together and had some fun on the green screen, of course.
KEY CLUB ATTENDS DCON
Members of our high school Key Club had a great time attending the Wisconsin-Upper Michigan DCON in Sheboygan! Key Club provides its members with opportunities to serve, build character, and develop leadership. In partnership with our local Mineral Point Kiwanis Club, high school students are making a positive impact as they serve others in our schools and community.
AUTHOR VISIT
A big thank you to Marcia Jablonski, an author from right here in Mineral Point, and her friend, Judy, for coming in to share Marcia's children's book: "All of You!" It illustrates how yesterday’s memories and thoughts of tomorrow work together to inspire a more peaceful today.

Kudos to the #PointerNation Golf Team who is the #2 state ranked team in Division 3 pre-season by the Golf Coaches Association of Wisconsin! As you'll recall, MP earned the WIAA State Runner-Up trophy last year. 6TH GRADE STATE CHAMPS
Congrats to the #PointerNation 6th Grade Boys Basketball team which took 1st place in Division 4/5 at the Wisconsin State Invitational Championship Tournament in Ashwaubenon/De Pere/Wrightstown Sunday! The boys defeated Cedar Grove-Belgium, Fall Creek, Elk Mound, Cadott, Laconia, and finally Onalaska Luther 52-48 in the championship game. This is the second year in a row this group of kids has won the title. Great job, all!
HOCKEY STATE CHAMPS
Three Pointers (Gage Federman, Ethan Ferrell, Brock Lynch) were part of the Ice Wolves Youth Hockey Association's Wisconsin Amateur Hockey Association State Championship last weekend, defeating Kenosha in two overtimes at Marinette! Local schools do not offer hockey as a WIAA sanctioned sport, so students from Barneveld, Dodgeville, Dubuque, Highland, MP, Mount Horeb, and River Valley join forces to form this high school team. Congrats!
