We hope everyone had a great week! Our 8th graders are having a great trip in Washington, DC and will be returning late Monday evening.

Online Registration Open for 2024-25 school year

ONLINE REGISTRATION (OLR) is now open for the 2024-25 school year. Please help by going online and registering for next year. You can register your entire family at one time, even if children attend different schools in the district. OLR completion is one required step to ensure your child receives their Chromebook at the beginning of next school year without delay. Thank you in advance! ILP (Individual Learning Plan) Information for parents

The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) mandates that all students in grades 6-12 complete their Individual Learning Plan (ILP) each year. Jessamine County Schools uses Major Clarity as the main platform used to achieve this goal. Each year, students are required to reach 100% completion for that school year’s ILP tasks. Major Clarity offers a wealth of information to help your student learn and explore information related to personality traits and learning styles as they may relate to future employment opportunities, along with details regarding career paths and occupations. Students this year have worked on their ILPs via Writing classes and Core Connections classes (based on their schedules). We encourage you to explore the attached information and ask your student to log into their Major Clarity account (via Clever) so they can show you what they have been working on this year. Feel free to reach out to your student’s grade level counselor for more information.

Spring Showcase - Monday, March 18th

We are excited to host our annual East Jessamine Middle Academic showcase for students and families on Monday, March 18th from 5:00-6:30 PM. Please find a time for you and your student to stop by and view all the incredible work we have to display this year. There will also be an opportunity to view student-led performances and even challenge your student's knowledge against yours. Our staff looks forward to welcoming you into our building and partnering with you to finish out our school year strong. We look forward to seeing as many East families as possible!

February Students of the Month

Students of the month in February were recognized for their strong work ethic. According to this graduate profile attribute, these students demonstrate persistance and perseverance, show grit and a get-it-done attitude, exhibit growth mindsets, demonstrate strong morals and ethics, and are punctual and reliable. Anyone who has these folks as a student or a classmate can vouch for that among all of these young people. We're so proud of these students!

This week all of our students had the opportunity to pledge to be more inclusive in their lives. Some of the ways that our students have been talking about being more inclusive is by celebrating our differences, giving everyone a voice, using kind words, and building each other up.

Congratulations to our amazing EJMS Teacher of the Year, Ms. Morgan Cobb! Ms. Cobb has inspired her students and her colleagues to be creative and express themselves in so many ways. Our students described her as a safe space and a very trusted adult. We're so thankful that Ms. Cobb is part of our EJMS family.

Congratulations to our EJMS Rookie of the Year, Ms. Meagan Bellamy! Ms.Bellamy has brought so much to EJMS since joining our school. Her students appreciate how she supports them towards success especially when things get hard. We're so happy for Ms. Bellamy and look forward to continuing to support her success at EJMS.
