Bobcat Broadcast
Amerman Elementary, March 22, 2024
A MESSAGE FROM MRS. CAUDILL
It may have been a shorter week with our half-days, but we really packed so much into this week. It was such a great week to be a Bobcat. The pictures below highlight the fun and excitement we had this week. It was a great week to lead us into spring break.
Whether you are traveling or staying close to home we want you to Rest, Relax, Rejuvenate over this break! We believe school breaks should be just that - a brief reprieve from school responsibilities like homework, special projects, planning, and grading. It is a time to reconnect with loved ones without the stress of school work creeping in. We will be leading by example and there will be no Bobcat Broadcast next week due to Spring Break. Please look for a new Broadcast on Friday, April 5. We hope each of you have a relaxing break full of family, fun and togetherness.
Stay well,
Devon Caudill

TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE - APRIL 8, 2024
As many of you know, a total solar eclipse will cross North America on Monday, April 8th. While Michigan is not in the path of totality, we will experience a partial solar eclipse that afternoon at approximately 3:15 PM. Classes will have the option of going outside to experience the partial solar eclipse. All students will be required to wear solar eclipse glasses, which we have pre-purchased for every student. (See this Link for more information about the solar eclipse glasses we have pre-purchased.)
SPRING BREAK - TRAVEL RUSSELL
NHS FOOTBALL TEAM READERS
Members of the High School team stopped by Monday afternoon and read to some of our students. They read from a variety of classrooms from kindergarten to fifth grade. Our Kiddos loved the "big kids" coming in and reading to them!
FIRST GRADE INFORMANCES
Tuesday night Ms. Farmer hosted first grade informances. Our young bobcats showcased their knowledge of macro and micro beats, saying, reading and writing rhythm patterns, and of course singing and dancing. To quote one of our parents, "that was magical."
IMPACT PROJECTS
If you could do anything to fix a problem you see that impact you or others, how would you fix it? This the the project that that students in Mrs. Vertrees, Mrs. Robinson and Mr. Hartnett's fourth grade class presented on. Look out, one day one day one of these fourth graders will change the world!
THANK YOU REPRESENTATIVE BREEN
State Representative Kelly Breen (and former Northville Grad) came and spoke to all of our fifth grade classes on Thursday. She read students a couple books and spoke about what her job is as state representative. It was such a great opportunity for our students to hear from someone what does the job they learn about in class!
STEAM CAREER DAY
This morning students in grades 1-5 got to hear from three different parent presenters on how they use science, technology, engineering or math in their jobs every day. This is the second time our STEAM teacher Mrs. Chenoweth has organized this event and it was incredible. Thank you to all the parent presenters that made this day possible!
REMINDER: USING THE LOOP
For Anyone Who Uses the Loop in the Afternoon
Be sure that your child/ren knows to meet you at the Loop.
Display your name card in an upright position until your child/ren are safely in your car. (We need to know your names to call for students and to help our rotating teachers get the right student to the right car.)
Display your name BOLDLY! (Whether cloudy or sunny, it is easier to read the name when it is BIG and BOLD)
Keep your car in park until your child/ren are safely in your car.
Stay in your car while the Loop is open. (Our teachers and staff need to stay focused on the vehicles and students. Please do not walk up to teachers and staff in the Loop. It is safer for you to go to the office for assistance.)
The dismissal loop will be closed at 3:55, if you have not entered the loop by 3:55 and the gym doors are closed you will have to come to the office to collect your child/ren.

LEADER IN ME MARCH FOCUS - HABIT 6
Synergize!
What this means: Working together is better. The whole is greater than the sum of the parts.
“I get along well with other people and work well in groups.”
“I value the strengths of others and allow myself to learn from them.”
“I know that working together as a team we can get more done and come up with better solutions than we could alone.”
“I seek out other people’s ideas to solve problems.”
How can I do this in my life?
With your children, choose a problem you may have (like curfew or completing tasks). Use the Synergy Action Plan to summarize your child's solution and your solution: (1) define the problem, (2) share your views, (3) think of solutions, (4) choose the best solution together. See if you can reach a better solution (The High Way) than either of you could come up with alone.
