Outdoor Learning & Performance Space
During my first year as principal here at MMSOA, our dedicated teachers expressed their vision for an outdoor learning and performance space where our students could thrive creatively and academically. Since then, with your generous support and the backing of the BCSD school district, we have been diligently raising funds to turn this dream into a reality.
I am delighted to announce that we have succeeded! Thanks to our collective efforts, we now have the privilege of introducing the MMSOA Agora. The name "Agora" holds historical significance, originating from ancient Greek cities where it served as a bustling hub for various activities, including assemblies, commerce, social gatherings, and performances. Inspired by this rich tradition, we believe that our new outdoor space will similarly serve as a focal point for academic exploration, artistic expression, and community connection.
To celebrate this milestone, I invite you to see the pictures below of our jazz band performance at the MMSOA Agora. It's a momentous occasion that reflects the culmination of our collective dedication and vision for enriching our students' educational journey.
Thank you for your unwavering support and commitment to our school community. Together, we continue to create transformative opportunities for our students to learn, grow, and succeed
Berkeley Center for the Arts
We are thrilled to announce that 31 of our talented 8th graders have been accepted into the prestigious Berkeley County Center for the Arts High School! This is a significant achievement, as it represents the culmination of their dedication and hard work over the past three years.
Please join us in congratulating these remarkable young artists. We are incredibly proud of them and look forward to seeing their continued growth and success in their artistic journeys.
Returning Student Update
The mandatory BCSD returning student update will be available for parents to complete in your parent portal account on May 1. This is where you will upload your yearly required two proofs of residency as well as sign the chromebook agreement. Every student returning to BCSD is required to have this completed. By doing so early, this will ensure your student will be issued their device without any delays.

7th Grade Supply Requests
Hello 7th grade parents!
We are down to our last few rolls of paper towels and tissues! We would be very grateful if students could bring some of these into their homeroom teachers to add to our supplies. It is allergy season so we are running through tissues fairly quickly, as well as paper towels!
In addition to this,
7th grade ELA classes will begin a totem pole project once the class novel, "Touching Spirit Bear", is completed. Students will be tasked with creating a totem pole and connecting it to characters in the book and themselves. We would love donations of empty/unrolled toilet paper rolls and paper towel rolls!
Thank you,
