Q3 Grading Period
The Quarter 3 Report Card Grading Window is open, and all grades must be posted before 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, April 3. The 3rd Grading Quarter officially ends this today, March 22. View the memo sent by Mary Pigott on March 20 for resources.
GYO Teacher College Scholarship Program - Deadline Today
The CH-UH Human Resources Department is excited to announce the 'Grow Your Own' Teacher Scholarship Program from the Ohio Department of Higher Education. This scholarship would provide up to $7,500 a year for up to 4 years. Employees pursuing or planning to pursue a degree in education are encouraged to apply. Applications must be turned in to HR in person or via email by March 22.
Vote for Staff Awards Finalists
The District is once again honoring a Teacher of the Year, Helping Hand of the Year, and Rookie of the Year at each school. These honorees were chosen by their school colleagues for demonstrating excellence in their efforts to educate and support our community’s students. Vote here to determine the finalists in each category by 4:30 p.m. on March 22.
Summer Programming Staffing
The Human Resources and Educational Services Departments are pleased to announce multiple positions available for 2024 summer programming. The application deadline is April 12. View the memo sent by Dr. Michael Jenkins on March 12 for a list of available positions.
Ohio Teacher of the Year
More than an award, the State Board of Education’s Ohio Teacher of the Year program offers a way for schools and community members to elevate the teaching profession and recognize exceptional teachers as leaders advocating for student success and public education. Nominate an educator here by March 31.
District Art Show Purchase Awards
The annual Creative Heights District Art Show is April 9 - May 3 at the Heights Libraries Lee Road Branch. There will be more 300 works of art done by students in K-12 art classes on display. See this letter for information on how to purchase artwork.
Digital Safety Event
The District, CH-UH PTA Council, and 21st Century Programs are hosting part two of the Cell Phone & Online Safety Symposium on April 9 at Heights High. Attendees will hear from parents Tim and Tamia Woods, who founded the Do It For James Foundation after their son James fell victim to online sextortion. The presentation is at 6 p.m. with dinner at 5:30 p.m. RSVP here.
Community Corner
- Since 1992, the Reaching Heights annual Spelling Bee has been a community favorite. Up to 25 three-person teams compete for the coveted Bee Trophy and bragging rights for a whole year! This year's Bee is on April 10. Funds raised will go to support the Many Villages Tutoring program and Role Model Speakers program. Learn more and register your team here.
- On April 20, Young Men Growing will host the Black Male Youth Empowerment Summit at Tri-C Eastern Campus. The summit theme is "No Opportunities Wasted" (N.O.W.). The event is free. Details and registration
- Run like it's recess at the annual Heights Tiger 5K and Fun Run on May 18. Proceeds benefit all CH-UH District schools. Registration and details

If you know of any student in need of social and/or emotional support, please complete the referral form located in the Quick Links section of their school's page on CHUH.org. Anyone can complete this referral form, and submissions are routed directly to the school social worker and counselors for follow-up.
Our “see something, say something” policy applies to our school community 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Anyone can access the Safe School Helpline to report threats, bullying, or other such behavior. Call 1-800-4-1-VOICE (1-800-418-6423) ext. 359 to leave your information, or submit a report online.
The District has adopted a plan for communications with persons with disabilities, which is available here. The plan establishes procedures to ensure that the District's communications with persons with disabilities, including applicants, participants, members of the public, and companions with disabilities, are as effective as its communications with others.
