Achieving Excellence Together
Weekly Parent Update
Parents,
We will begin MAP Testing for 3rd-5th graders this week. Please view the test taking tips below to encourage your 3rd-5th grade student this week. Please help us encourage them to do their best. You can also assist in their success by making sure they are present and on time for testing day, get plenty of rest the night before, and eat a well balanced breakfast. As always, we appreciate your support and we know our students are going to do great!

Note from Nurse...
All Parents of K3-5th Grade,
It is getting warmer weather outside and I wanted to send a reminder to please provide a change of clothing (season appropriate) in your child's backpack for any need that may arise during the school day. There are times that they may spill food/drink, soil their clothing from an unforeseen accident, etc. It will help lessen your child missing class time and a call home waiting for clothing to arrive to school. Thank you for helping your children succeed during their time at Hagood!

A few photos from our week...
All students and staff wore green on Friday to support Cerebral Palsy Awareness!

We love our Fallon!
The sweetest staff wore pink on Wednesday to show support for my sister, also Wren Middle School Principal, as she underwent surgery for cancer.

Summer Program Information
2024 Summer Camp Information
Hagood Elementary will not have a summer program this summer (2024) due to our school undergoing construction on our floors! We are excited for this upgrade and apologize for any inconvenience it causes this summer to our families. Below you will find additional district information for summer camps offered.
4th and 5th graders have the opportunity to participate in the following: visual arts, chorus, theatre, and dance. This year, there are no tryouts. Instead, the district will use a teacher recommendation form. The students will seek a related arts teacher recommendation to be submitted digitally.
SDPC CAMP TalentEd is a specialized program that focuses on various forms of visual and performing arts. Each week, a different camp is offered to provide students with the opportunity to explore and develop their artistic talents in a supportive and creative environment. SDPC CAMP TalentEd features professional instructors and performances, allowing students to enhance their skills and express their creativity. It's a great way for young artists to immerse themselves in their passion and connect with others who share their interests.
Each week in June, SDPC CAMP TalentEd will offer a different fine arts camp at D.W. Daniel High School, with a camp celebration on Friday evening. There are no costs for current students enrolled in SDPC including transportation, breakfast, and lunch. Camp hours are from 8:30am - 2:30pm with a celebration each Friday starting at 6:30pm. Students will need to submit the application and acquire a related arts teacher recommendation for consideration.
- Students can apply online using the link provided or the QR code found on the flyer or attached.https://forms.gle/hMZCD76Ti3LgHt8R8
- After applying, students or parents should ask their related arts teacher to complete the teacher recommendation form that can be found using the link provided or the QR code attached. https://forms.gle/AhYvi5RceFHXy8tu6
- Parents will be notified of acceptance after the registration deadline of March 29th.
Please have all questions sent to Michael Salina, SDPC Camp TalentEd Director.
