A Note from Mrs. Lake & Mrs. Gross
Hi Grassy Creek Families,
We hope you had a fun spring break! These last two months of school tend to go quickly with standardized testing and special activities occurring.
ILearn testing for students in grades 3-5 will begin on Tuesday, April 16, and continue through Thursday, May 2. Please try to avoid appointments and absences during this time for third, fourth, and fifth graders. We will have the week of May 6 for make-ups if necessary.
We will be having our field day on Wednesday, May 22! Primary students (K-2) will participate from 12:30-3:00 p.m, and Intermediate students (3-5) will participate from 9:15-11:15 a.m. Parents will be welcome to attend and rotate stations with their child. Due to helping with the students, we are requesting that younger siblings not attend.
Our Awards Day will be on the final day of school, Friday, May 24.

IMMUNIZATIONS
All students entering 6th grade will need a Tdap and MCV4 before the start of school next year.
Big Blue Football Camp
The Indianapolis Colts are bringing their Big Blue Football Camp to Grassy Creek on May 2nd for grades 3-5.
Led by former Colts Safety Mike Prior, this non-contact camp aims to introduce kids to the game of football while demonstrating the NFL's Play 60 message of obtaining at least 60 minutes of physical activity each day.
Grassy Creek must supply 12-15 parent volunteers to help run the stations on this day. The hours will be from 8:30-12:30. All volunteers must have a background check on file. Here is the link to complete this: https://secure.safevisitor.io/Safe/Volunteer/000068/vol
Please complete this form if you are interested/able to help with this event. Any parent can volunteer; however, the camp is for 3-5 grades only.

Car Rider Information & Reminders
To improve traffic flow during arrival and dismissal at GCES, we would like families of GCES students to enter school grounds off of Worthsville Road onto Palmore Way (first entrance to CPMS.) Then take your first left before the tennis courts (turn left/west). Continue on the access road to the end of the sidewalk on the north side adjacent to door 8.. Staff members will walk out door 8 to welcome students into the building at 8:50. We will no longer use the front of the building for drop off. Cars should continue on straight to exit the lot.
Clark-Pleasant Early Learning Center is a part of GCES, and their arrival time is 8:45. These families will enter off Sheek Road and line up for drop off in the front of the building,
If students arrive after 9:05 a.m., an adult will need to park and sign their student in at the front office.
Car rider families should enter the same way for afternoon car rider pick up, but stop at the corner that leads to the front drive. A staff member will come out at approximately 3:50 to dismiss students. Students will exit out of door 4. Cars should pull up to the flag pole once dismissal begins.
ATTENTION: Parents of students that go to after school daycare!
If your student attends a daycare that is within our GCES boundary, you will need to complete an "alternate bus stop" form in order for your child to be dropped off at the correct stop. You can access that form here or contact our transportation office at 317-535-7255.
