3rd Grade Famous Missourians
Our 3rd graders put on quite a show this week at their Living Wax Museum! Students have been working hard putting together presentation boards, writing papers and memorizing speeches about famous Missourians. On Tuesday, those famous Missourians came to life and we got to hear from a range of people including Mark Twain, Salvador Perez, Pearl White, Patrick Mahomes and everyone in between!
Falcon Flyers Field Trip!
Our 5th grade Falcon Flyers went to Courtyard Early Learning Center earlier this week. The plan was to host an Easter egg hunt for the kiddos there. Rain changed the plans and instead the 5th graders got to do indoor games and play with kids of all ages. They had such a great time, the big kids and the littles!
Read Across America Rewards
Several students got to enjoy their Read Across America week prizes! Featured below... principal's chair for the day, pizza with the principal, and ice cream sundaes! Stay tuned for more next week!
Little Trebles to Perform at Cardinal's Game!
Our honor choir, Little Trebles, will be performing at a St. Louis Cardinals game on May 5, 2024! We are SO excited about this opportunity for our students and are officially opening ticket sales to the rest of our Blair Oaks families. The game has a start time of 1:15pm and our choir will be performing in Ford Plaza at 12:30pm, prior to the start of the game. Blair Oaks will have its own designated section of seats at the stadium. Tickets are $20 each and include your seat, a jumbo hot dog, and a drink!
If you would like to join in on the fun, tickets can be ordered using the link below. Once the form is filled out, money can be brought/sent into the office and you can pick up tickets yourself or we can send them home with your student. Not only is this a great deal for the whole family, its an opportunity to support our young kiddos as they perform on their biggest stage yet!

Counseling with Ms. Katnik!
For the month of March, the topic we focused on in Counseling was friendships. Throughout this month, we focused on a few different things that have to do with this topic. We talked about making / keeping friends, which included a discussion about how we can form new friendships or maintain the friendships that we have already. We also discussed what it means to tattle vs report and the specific goal / purpose of each of these. In addition, we had a discussion about bullying and explored the difference between bullying, a conflict, and a mean moment. Finally, we covered the concept of conflict resolution and the students were given tips on how they can resolve conflicts in a positive way. Make sure to check back in about a month for another update on what we are doing in Counseling!
