A Note From the Director:

LSP Families,

May is an exciting month at Little Spartans Preschool! Many of our students will be transitioning to Kindergarten at the end of May. We are excited to see our students growing and flourishing, but we will miss them greatly. Graduation dates and times can be found under 'Important Dates to Note.' The last student day is May 24th.

Head Start Early Enrollment

Head Start is now enrolling for the 24-25 school year. May 7th from 9-11a.m., 12-2p.m., and 3:30-6:00p.m. will be early registration times for Head Start (at LSP). Families may also call the school 827-0191 Ext. 4 to make an appointment to register for Head Start.

Kindergarten Parent Meeting

Mrs. Silcott (Elementary Social Worker) will be hosting a Kindergarten Parent Meeting at LSP on May 7th. This is a great time to ask questions about Kindergarten and learn about what your child's day will include. Guardians can choose between two sessions, 8:15am or 12:00pm.

Registration for 24-25

Registration for all programs for the 24-25 school year will be July 23rd 12:00-6:00p.m. and July 24th 8:30-3:30p.m. (at LSP).

Kindergarten Round-Up

If you did not make it to Kindergarten Round-Up on Saturday, April 27th, please call your child's home school and let them know your intent to enroll. If you are not sure which elementary is your child's home school, just give us a call at LSP 827-0191. Children must be 5 years old by August 1, 2024 in order to enroll in Kindergarten.

Preschool Interest Survey 2024-2025

The preschool interest survey for 24-25 is still open. Please help us spread the word so we can begin preparing for class sizes for the 24-25 school year....Here is the link: https://forms.gle/GZ8jMwHSpaFJcpMp8

Recruitment

Do you know families who have or will have children between 3 & 5 years of age for the 24-25 school year? Be sure to send them our number 765-827-0191 Ext. 1. We can discuss program options and/or schedule a visit. LSP is an amazing facility for young learners!

Recess/Outdoor Learning

Children will go outside to play unless the feels like temperature is below twenty-eight degrees. Even though the afternoons are getting warmer, the mornings are still very chilly. Please be sure children are dressed appropriately to play outside.

Bookmobile

This year we have partnered with the Fayette County Public Library. The bookmobile will be back at LSP on May 9th from 10:30a.m. to 2:00p.m. All books checked out by students must be returned on this day.

Safety, Safety, Safety

Don't be alarmed if you notice police presence at LSP! The Connersville Police Department and the Fayette County Sherriff's Department regularly visit to make sure our students and staff are safe. If there ever is an emergency, families will be notified via ClassDojo, PowerSchool Messenger, and Social Media (Facebook/Twitter). If your phone number changes for any reason, please notify the office so we can update our system!

Classroom Newsletters

Be sure to review classroom newsletters weekly! Teachers do a great job keeping families up to date on what is happening in the classroom. Parent meetings and events specific to classrooms are also included on classroom newsletters.

School Bus Stop Arm

In Indiana, it's illegal for drivers to pass a stopped school bus that has its red lights flashing and stop-arm extended. Violators are not only putting a child's safety at risk, but they will also receive a fine. School buses are equipped with technology to track offenders. Please help us keep our children safe by stopping for school buses!
