Patriots Making an Impact!
Welcome Back!
It's back to school time and we are so excited to welcome all of our students and families back to Truman. It's hard to believe that we are just over a week away from our first day of school for the 2023-2024 school year. Our administrative team, counselors, support staff, and teachers, have all been working hard, planning and preparing, so we are ready for students on Monday, Aug.21st!Our theme this year is IMPACT. Impact is defined as one object coming into forcible contact with another. More appropriately for our setting, it is defined as having a strong or significant effect on someone or something. In recent years, it has seemed that outside forces have had the IMPACT on us as we have had to react and respond to things like COVID, virtual learning, etc.). This year we are claiming our power to have an IMPACT on the lives of others!
As educators, we go into this field because we want to make a difference in the lives of others and in our community. We are focused on making positive impacts on your students, especially in the areas of attendance and academic achievement, as we build strong, positive relationships with your students that create caring, connected classroom communities. We want students to know that they are capable of making an IMPACT on their own futures, their learning & growth, and their own school that will last long after they leave here. We want you to realize the IMPACT you have on your student, their attendance, their achievement, and their resilience.
We are grateful for you support in the passage of the levy measure. We know that will have an IMPACT on all of our employees and ultimately your students and community as we continue to recruit and retain highly qualified staff in all positions.
The truth is, that we all have an IMPACT with each interaction we have and each choice we make. We aim for our IMPACT to be positive and long-lasting. We look forward to working alongside you this school year as we join together in making an IMPACT in the lives of our students, staff, family, and community.
