STUDENTS! REGISTER FOR CAREER & TECH EDUCATION (CTE) COURSES
THIS WEEK IN ADVISEMENT CLASS...
FRESHMEN: This week, freshmen were shown examples of vision boards and how to create their own. Students were asked to design their own vision board to support future goals while in high school.
SOPHMORES: Checking progress of their project goal and product. We also discussed the differences between what their goal, product and report are. Next week they will be introduced to what is required in their final report for the Personal Project
JUNIORS: Students spent time with their counselors to finalized their academic plan (MYAP) and course selection for next year.
SENIORS: Seniors attended a meeting in the gym and were presented information about 2nd semester timeline, senior checkout, and graduation.

Did you apply directly to a college that requires a mid-year transcript? If you answered 'yes', please notify Mrs. Szilagyi ASAP -- only if you applied directly to a school (not through Common App) that requires a mid-year transcript.

BECOME A READING BUDDY AND EARN EASY COMMUNITY HOURS!
The Highlands Ranch Library is now accepting applications to become a Teen Reading Buddy. Reading Buddies program pairs a trained teen volunteer with a current 1st through 3rd grade child who is having challenges with reading. The program also helps teens develop teaching and leadership skills. The program runs February 28 - April 28.
Teams meet weekly at the library, Tuesdays or Thursdays, 3:45 - 5:15.
Applications are due Friday, January 28. Teens can find more information and apply through https://dcl.org/volunteer/. Questions?Email hireadingbuddies@dclibraries.org, call 303-791-READ, or stop by a branch and talk to any of our friendly staff members!
Additionally, we are looking for a student who speaks Korean who might be interested in volunteering with our Reading Buddies program. We have an applicant who doesn't speak much English but wants to practice reading in English with us.
