Carpool Reminders
Many of our families have developed unique ways to pick up their kids in the afternoon. We know that everyone wants to expedite the process, but safety is our top priority.
Here are a few reminders:
1. If your child is a walker, please do not block driveways in our nearby neighborhoods. In addition, please do not park in the business lots near the school. These businesses have repeatedly asked our families to be considerate of their business hours.
2. If you have not been given permission by an administrator to use the back lot (by the lower gym) or the front lot (in front of the 6th grade building) for carpool pick-up, please do not use these spaces. These spaces are reserved for special circumstances. Additional individuals trying to utilize these spaces are hindering those with special circumstances (ie. students with injuries, students with special needs, or those teams heading to practice at VHHS, etc.).

Are you interested in joining an SGA Committee? The interest meeting for Committees will be on Wednesday, 5/1 during 8th period in Ms. Lushington's room, E-104.

Donate Gently Used Books
Do you have old or gently used books at your house? SGA is collecting used books for our school philanthropy, Hand in Paw. We are primarily looking for children's books up to an 8th grade reading level. Students will be at morning carpool next week, May 6th-10th. Hand in Paw is an animal-assisted therapy non profit located right here in Birmingham. One of their programs, Sit, Stay, Read, provides students struggling with reading a chance to read to a non-judgmental furry friend to improve their literacy. These books will go to expanding their library for the students they work with.
