10th Street Middle School Youth Legislature Hosts General Session
Students at 10th Street Middle School have been participating in the YMCA’s Youth Legislature program, learning how to advance an idea to a bill, searching the State’s RCWs, debating their bills in committee, and more.
Two weeks ago, all seventh and eighth graders at 10th Street hosted “Committee Day.” Students had three hours to present their bills through the committee, giving opening statements, standing for debate and questions, and closing. The goal was to get your bill passed out of committee. Thirty-six hard-working students did just that.
Last Thursday, April 18, students convened in the Marysville School District's Board Room to hold a General Session where the bills that passed out of committee were presented.
