April/May Updates

The final stretch is here!

It's hard to believe we have 7 weeks left in the school year! Hope you're taking time to enjoy the spring weather with family and friends. April and May are busy months at Edwards and we cannot wait to finish the year strong!

Spring iReady Testing

Our results look great! Students are locked in and focused and it shows! We had 635 students already meet their typical growth goals for the year and 229 met their stretch goals. We will celebrate them soon!

Remember these district calendar changes due to Hurricane Helene

April 21 – is now a full, in-person school day.
May 22 and May 23 – were originally half days and are now full days.

Important Dates

8th Grade Semi-Formal

Our 8th Grade Semi-Formal will be held on Saturday, May 3rd in the Edwards Gymnasium. Students can be dropped off in the back car loop at 6:00PM and picked up at 8:00PM. Tickets will be sold at lunches and via MySchoolBucks April 21st - 30th. Only current RCE 8th grade students may attend and semi-formal attire is required.

State Testing

All students are required to take the SCReady and SCPass state tests. Students will be tested in Math, Writing, Reading, and Science (6th Grade only). Our testing schedule is below and we ask that all students arrive to school by 8:30 to begin testing in a timely manner. Students will not be allowed to be signed out for appointments while testing is in progress and we hope to have testing completed by noon each day. Please contact the main office at 864-397-4200 if you have any questions.

This year will be asking all families interested in buying a Yearbook to please go to the Josten's website to make this purchase. A limited quantity of Yearbooks will be for sale on the day of Yearbook distribution. Reserve your copy in advance!
