Week of March 11 - March 15
Superintendent Information
Dear Jaguar Families,
Please note that there will be no school on Friday March 15 as it was scheduled as a "snow/weather" make up day on the calendar. Speaking of calendars, I will be presented to the School Board the 2024/25 Easton School calendar at the next Board meeting and will share the results shortly afterwards.
We have two(2) home volleyball matches on Monday and Wednesday. Please join us and concessions will be available.
Also, Spring Parent Conferences will be on March 27 and March 28 with both afternoon sessions and an evening session on Thursday, March 28th. Please see below for more information.
In coordinating with our playground installers, we are hopeful they can complete the primary playground install over Spring Break and the students will be able to come back to a new play area.
Lastly, Easton has receive a Small School Modernization Planning Grant for 24/25. This will allow us to plan much need upgrades like HVAC, plumbing etc. and then apply for a Modernization Grant fr upwards of 5 million hopefully to be awarded during the 25/26 school year.
Great things are happening at Easton!
Thank you, have a great week and Go Jags!

Attendance Matters
DID YOU KNOW?
- By being present at school, your child learns valuable social skills and has the opportunity to develop meaningful relationships with other students and school staff.
- Starting in kindergarten, absences can cause children to fall behind in school.
- Missing 10 percent (just two days a month or about 18 days in a year) increases the chance that your student will not read or master math at the same level as their peers. • Students can still fall behind if they miss just a day or two days every few weeks.
- By 6th grade, absenteeism is a signs that a student may drop out of high school.
- By 9th grade, regular and high attendance is a better predictor of graduation rates than 8th grade test scores.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
- Set a regular bedtime and morning routine.
- Prepare for school the night before, finishing homework and getting a good night’s sleep.
- Follow our on when to keep your child home due to illness.
- If possible, avoid appointments and extended trips when school is in session.
- Develop back-up plans for getting to school if something comes up. Call on a family member, a neighbor, or another parent.
- Keep track of your student’s attendance. Missing more than 9 days could put your student at risk of falling behind.
- Talk to your student about the importance of attendance.
- Talk to your students’ teachers if you notice sudden changes in behavior.
- Encourage meaningful afterschool activities, including sports and clubs.
