Hemlock Gray Matter 💡
Gray Matter had a great weekend at Midland! We were awarded the Impact Award, recognizing our team’s influential contributions to our community. During playoffs, our team was captain of the first alliance. We were joined by 5114 Titanium Tigers @fentonrobotics and 5229 Heritage Hawkbots @heritage_hawkbots_frc. Throughout the weekend, we set 3 new high scores for the event and had a win-loss record of 11-1. Our team also qualified for the Michigan State Championship at SVSU on April 4-6. We hope to see you there!
A round of applause for our Woodie Flower’s nominee competing at State Championship as a semi-finalist, Chris Bale! He has contributed so much to our team and we are endlessly grateful.
Go Gray Matter!
Hosted at the Lockwood STEM Center, the 3rd Annual Brain Bowl was a massive success! Teams had the opportunity to practice with other robots to prepare for the FIRST in Michigan State Championship. Congratulations to the Team 5603 WarriorBots for winning the Brain Bowl and to Team 6067 St. Charles Underdogs for winning the Wooden Flower Award. This award was given to the team that brought the most socks. The socks will be donated to Saginaw Rescue Mission and the Underground Railroad. Thank you to Team 5216 E-Ville Empire and Team 8517 Bounty Hunters for donating socks

Food Service🍎
We are thrilled to announce that thanks to the Michigan School Meals Program, EVERY child at Hemlock Public School District, pre-K through 12th grade, will now be able to enjoy a delicious and nutritious breakfast and lunch for FREE!
Not only will this amazing program lighten the load on your wallet (we all know kids can eat their way through a pantry), but it'll save you precious time in the morning.
Now, here's the nitty-gritty: Although the meals are free, we do need all our parents to fill out the new free/reduced lunch application. This data is super important as it helps secure state and federal funding for this fantastic initiative.
Here's to full bellies, vibrant minds, and the #huskietastic school year ahead!
