OUUC on Facebook: Help Raise Our Profile!
Did you know that OUUC has a Facebook page where upcoming events, news, and more are shared?
Facebook is a great place to find out about local events. However, we need help to make sure our organization gets publicized!
The more you interact with our Facebook posts, the more publicity OUUC gets!
How to help:
Visit our OUUC Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/OlyUUC and make sure you’ve clicked “Like” at the top of the page to follow our posts.
Then find a few posts to interact with: by clicking “Like,” leaving a comment, or sharing to your own Facebook page.
The more you use Facebook, the more easy and fun it becomes! If you can, visit our Facebook page directly once a week to engage with posts.
This Week
Can you help?
Tomorrow, Wednesday February 28 will be our congregations night to provide dinner for the 58 guests at Interfaith Work’s Unity Commons Adult Shelter. Still needed are 3 main dishes to feed 8 to 10 people. Please contact Jo Ann Young here for more information.

Meditation Demystified with Ann Yeo

Are you interested in meditation? Have you, perhaps, tried some form of meditation previously, and just could not “get into it,” but you want to try again? Maybe you, like Ann, would be more satisfied with a simple, non-mystical approach, rather than one of the traditional methods like Buddhist or Transcendental meditation.

What are your burning questions and your deepest wonderings?
Back by popular demand, Rev. Mary will offer another Question Box service on Sunday, March 10, where she ponders your deepest questions and wonderings.

Buddhism without Beliefs Class with Bill Arensmeyer starts March 7

The UU Common Read: On Repentance and Repair
Facilitated by Rev. Sara Lewis
The new UU Common Read, On Repentance and Repair by Rabbi Danya Ruttenberg (Beacon Press, 2022), provides a fresh, transformative perspective on how we make ourselves accountable to others. This Common Read offers a glimpse into Judaism, one of our faith’s foundational sources, as we follow Rabbi Ruttenberg’s dive into prescriptions on accountability offered by the 12th century Jewish physician and scholar, Maimonides.

Prayers from the Heart
Thursday March 28. 6:45 pm
Rev. Sara hosts this prayer practice on the 4th Thursday of each month. Come to pray together, to drop stones and light candles, to give voice to all that is in your heart.
Not sure about prayer? Not a problem, we are a welcoming and inclusive group and approach prayer in an inter-spiritual and expansive way.
Are you a lonely single senior? Would you like to get out more but your hiking days are over? Are you living alone or with people decades younger than yourself? Would you rather get together in person with friends than friend people on social media?
If so, here’s your chance. Janet Spencer and Woody Moore are offering an OUUC Single Seniors Social Group. If this appeals to you, contact Janet or Woody here. Share your day and time preferences, your frequency of meetings, and any ideas you have about agendas or no agenda get togethers.
All Ages OUUC Nature Group--4th Saturday of each month, 9 am

Quick Notes
Doors, Doors, Doors!
Just a friendly reminder to close all internal doors and pull on all external doors to double check they are locked before leaving.
The workroom is now an office space!
Now that the front workroom has become Rosie’s office space, the room will be for staff and volunteer use only to protect confidentiality.
If you need to enter the workroom during office hours (T-Th 10-2 and Sun 8-1), please check in with Rosie at the window.
March comes in like a lion this Sunday! Bring in your dead batteries and fluorescent bulbs and the OUUC Environmental Action Team will see that they are recycled or safely disposed. Thanks for doing your part to conserve resources! Look for our table in the Commons for information on other environmental issues EAT is working on.
OUUC’s address changed as of January 1, 2024. OUUC’s new address is 2306 East End St NW. The City of Olympia directed us to make this change. This is due to the regulations regarding emergency access. If you use an automated bill-paying service for your pledge payments (your financial institution sends OUUC a check on your behalf), you will need to update the address.
Remember to check out the Equity Library in the Religious Education hall and across from Reverend Mary’s office. It's open anytime OUUC is open.
Safety Reminder: Please lock and remove valuables from your vehicles.
Ways to Give - Did you know you can donate to OUUC by text message? Just text "OUUC" and "amount" to 73256. You can also donate online by visiting our secure online giving page.
