Bettendorf Senior Cooper Agosta has been offered admission into the United States Naval Academy. Cooper's hard work, dedication to serving his country, and kind heart exude the character traits necessary for success in this endeavor. Congratulations Cooper and Mr. and Mrs. Agosta!

BHS Parent Teacher PRIDE is excited to share with you a new program that we are starting this year for our seniors: the Life Impact Award! With this program, seniors will be given the opportunity to select any person from their K-12th grade education who has impacted or inspired them.

The students will write a letter of appreciation to this person, sharing how they have impacted or inspired them. Then, they will personally present a Life Impact Award certificate to the person along with a bulldog paw print pin that can be proudly worn.

We anticipate that this program will become a proud tradition of BHS and one that our students look forward to in their senior year. In order to make this program a success, we need your help! We need to raise $1,000 in the next few weeks so the pins and certificates can be purchased in bulk and distributed at no cost to each student. (Students can purchase additional Life Impact Award certificate/pin sets for $5.) “Many hands make light work,” so the saying goes. Even the smallest donation will add up to help this become a tradition for years to come.

The Fine Arts Boosters support students and staff in the BCSD performing arts programs: band, orchestra, choir, and theatre. They are open to all families and community members.

The Bettendorf Fine Arts Boosters (BFAB) have determined that becoming a 501(c)3 is the best course of action for the organization. Each year, JDRF One Walk brings together thousands of people across the country to change the future for everyone living with type 1 diabetes (T1D). JDRF One Walk gives people with T1D, their loved ones, companies and the local community the opportunity to create change and positively impact the lives of those living with T1D.

Safe+Sound Iowa is a free anonymous K-12 school safety reporting system to help prevent violence, unlawful possession of weapons, self-harm, and other forms of victimization and threatening behaviors in schools across Iowa.
