I hope you all had a wonderful Spring Break and enjoyed the beautiful weather. Taking a break and spending time with loved ones and family is important to rest and rejuvenate. I am excited about the final stretch of the 2023-24 school year here in Tigerland, and it's hard to believe that there are only about 10 weeks left! During this time, our Tigers will showcase the fruits of their hard work, preparation, and effort. Whether it's academics, athletics, fine arts, or success in clubs and organizations, I know that excellent outcomes will continue to reflect our Tiger Pride. I wish you all a wonderful week back and encourage you to stay motivated and driven to finish the year strong. As always, thank you for your support. It's such a great time to be a Tiger!

Points of Emphasis and Reminders
Senior Family Night - Tuesday, March 19 at 6 PM
Senior Family Night is this week! All Seniors and families are invited to join us on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at 6 PM in the Arena. This event is specifically designed to help seniors and their families prepare for the upcoming graduation and to reduce stress levels by providing a roadmap to the big day. We will discuss various topics, including graduation requirements, chords and regalia information, FASFA, attendance, cap and gown information, senior activities, post-graduation information, and much more. Plus, we'll be offering door prizes and refreshments to make the event even more enjoyable. We can't wait to see our senior families at this event!
Algebra Mock Testing This Week
This is a friendly reminder that we will have our final day of Mock STAAR testing this week. Algebra students will be taking the Mock test on Wednesday, March 20th. Our teachers and staff have put a lot of effort and dedication into our classes to ensure your child's success in Algebra. We will use the results of this mock test to guide our instruction and collect valuable data heading into the actual testing later this semester. We kindly encourage your children to get plenty of rest on Tuesday night and have a calm morning on Wednesday. Update to Traffic Flow on Saratoga - Follow The Law
We are pleased to inform you that, in collaboration with officials from TxDOT and the city, we have been able to expedite the installation of permanent barriers and signage at the Saratoga entry of the campus. We kindly remind you that parking is not allowed on Saratoga during drop off and pick up times. The entryway from Saratoga to our horseshoe-shaped parking lot is designed to help traffic flow and is not a parking area. We hope that with the new signage and barriers in place, all drivers will follow the law, enter the lot and keep traffic on Saratoga running smoothly. This will ensure the safety of our students, staff, and community. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Progress reports Available on Friday, March 22
We are now halfway through the six weeks. Just to remind you, progress reports will be available electronically at the end of this week. Please take some time to review your child's grades and have conversations with both your child and teachers if necessary. You can access your child's support materials on either the Home Access Center or Canvas. If you have any questions about accessing them, please call our Parent Liaison, Mrs. Iliana Ortiz, at 361-878-5140 extension 26508.
SAT School Day - March 27th
On Wednesday, March 27th, 2024, all of our Junior students will have the opportunity to take the SAT during the regular school day. The SAT is an important test that measures the knowledge and skills your child is learning in school and is crucial for college and career readiness. We're thrilled to provide this opportunity for all Juniors, and if you have any questions about the SAT, please don't hesitate to reach out to Dean Salinas or your counselor. We're here to help!
Friday Night Lights This Week - March 22
Many of our Tigers have been invited to CHS Friday Night Lights on March 22, 2024. These FNL sessions are organized as a substitute for Saturday School. The sessions will cover STAAR EOC Prep, HB1416 hours, Attendance Recovery, and Credit Recovery. The primary objective of these sessions is to assist your child in meeting their educational needs, bridging academic gaps, mastering state standards, improving overall performance, and fulfilling graduation requirements. Please note that if your child is already attending Night Quest (School) on Mondays and Wednesdays for Credit Recovery, they do not need to attend FNL. Invited students will receive an email this week as a reminder!
Safety Reminder - Closed Campus
Our campus is a closed campus during school hours from 8:50 am to 4:10 pm. This means the only entrance to the building is through the front vestibule during the school day. Students are not permitted to use any side entrances for entry or exit during this time range. Additionally, lunch deliveries are not allowed, and students are not allowed to leave campus for lunch. It's essential to follow these set procedures to ensure the safety of all students and account for our Tigers every minute of the day. Thank you for your cooperation.
