March Madness is an exciting thing at Sward! Sward is crazy about reading so we thought what's a great way to express our madness... have a "Tournament of Books!" This “Tournament” is similar to March Madness games but we are playing with BOOKS! We will start with the “Sweet 16.” The 16 book titles are chosen yearly by teachers from Ohio, Scott Jones, and Tony Keefer. In 2015, they decided to share their chosen titles and it has been a popular activity in classrooms and libraries around the world ever since. Feel free to make this a family event with your children. CLICK HERE for the list of books along with their summaries. Also, if you click on this link, you will be able to access the links to the stories read aloud. Voting is done through THIS LINK and can only be done when all books have been read or listened to.

1st Annual Sward's Got Talent
Many 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students will be performing in the first annual Sward's Got Talent on March 7th from 5:00-6:15pm. Performers will need to be at Sward by 4:45 to prepare for the show. If your child is performing in the talent show, please feel free to bring your whole family to enjoy the show. To give us the "full show experience," Sward's PTA will have concessions available so remember to bring cash if you would like to purchase some treats! The show will be live streamed for any family members unable to attend the after school performance. A live stream link will be sent out prior to the show.
