Unlocking the Possibilities!!!
Dear Friends,
Last week I started my week out at a women's leadership and networking event in Overland Park, KS. This month, the keynote speaker was all the buzz. Hailee Walsh, Founder and CEO of City Fit, gave a 20-minute inspiring message that seemed to grab every attendee. Her overlying message is....."No", is a complete sentence!!! You don't need to explain or give excuses for your "No." Make a goal, set your boundaries, and then go for it without apologies. She reminded thousands of us that to gain more of what we want, we need courage and foresight to say "NO" more than "Yes" to the many things that are holding us back from gaining the results we desire.
This message hit home for me. As a coach and consultant, I am constantly helping individuals identify what is working, what they want more of, and what they are willing to do to get there. Inevitably this means saying "No" to a few things you once thought were important or non-negotiable. In this week's client highlight, I asked one of my most inspiring clients to make a list of things she learned to say no to throughout our coaching process, and what she gained in return!! I appreciated her candor and honesty in her answers. This dedicated mother of 3 had to humbly admit that for her and her family homeschooling wasn't what she was hoping it would be. Although homeschooling is the answer for some families, it took a lot of reflection, and real courage to recognize what her family really needed, and not stay stuck or fixated on what she she once wanted. Her willingness to reflect, and pivot, ultimately gave her the peace she was longing for. So brave!!
I hope you enjoy her insight as much as I did, she is an inspiration to all! Welcome March!! Spring is just around the corner, bring it on!

Skills For Success
Learning To Say, "No Thank You"
Damara is a passionate mother of 3 unique children, 2 with neurodiverse abilities. She and her family live in North Kansas City, on a small farm in rural Missouri. When we met she was anxious to gain clarity and stability, as well as find direction for her family. As a coach, I am passionate about helping you design your preferred life. There is no "one-size-fits-all" answer to family life. I fell in love with her vision for her family, and feel honored to be a small part of her journey. With her, I learned how to treasure the process and respect the journey. Her courage and dedication are easily admired by others ... for good reason.
From Damara:
I have recently learned that my desire for myself is equanimity and calmness of the soul. I want my family to learn how to live through the good and the bad in life with an even keel, not always reacting as if we are constantly caught off guard. Along with the calmness, I desire for my family to have connection and clarity.
Things I had to learn to say no to, to achieve the inner peace I was looking for:
- Whoever was holding the microphone, and was typically preaching a message of fear.
- Not being busy 7 days a week.
- Man-made mechanical systems that pretended to offer automatic benefits.
- A rigid religious connection with the True One, learning what it truly means to be created in His image.
- Homeschooling, even though I really thought I wanted to do it.
What I gained in the process of learning to say No.
- Confidence that my children are learning life lessons for themselves, that will dwell in them for a lifetime. They are experiencing situations outside my home, that when we are together, they are quick to tell me about. I have learned to sit and listen with an open mind and an open heart.
- Clarity for the path forward to achieve what is needed to fulfill my purpose.
- Connection with my children as they explore their God-given intellectual curiosity about His world and how to be a part of it.

Positive Food Talk For Picky Eaters By Dr. Pahini Ross
We've all come across those well-intentioned phrases like, "Look, your sister is enjoying it!" or "Give it a taste; it's delicious!" While these words come from a place of care, they might inadvertently lead our children to doubt their own bodies when it comes to food.
Encourage young eaters to embrace food's sensory delights — its colors, textures, tastes, and origins. Instead of fixating on nutrition, savor the vibrant colors, crispy textures, and delightful tastes with them. Use this info graph to help with picky eaters and conversations about food.

Instructional Coaching
Great News!!! I am pleased to share that I have been approved as a vendor for the state of Missouri, complete with a Classwallet account! This is excellent news for schools that are still trying to spend their allocated EANS money. Instructional coaching is an excellent place to start, especially if you have new teachers still working towards their teaching certificate.
I offer a wide range of Professional Development that can help address learning loss experienced due to COVID-19, such as differentiated instruction, inclusion, classroom management, curriculum mapping, strategic planning, and team coaching. Many schools are also taking advantage of Title 4 and EANS funding to build community engagement through parent coaching.
Let's work together to make a difference for teachers and kids! For a description and full list of topics I am currently offering click here.
