March is Music In Our Schools Month. This is a time to celebrate the fact that we have such a strong music and arts program in East Irondequoit and our students from all grade levels have access to many wonderful and enriching opportunities to participate in music. Whether it be band, chorus, general music or our school play our students have a plethora of opportunities to make music and have fun.

I would like to highlight some of our musicians throughout the month by sending some videos to show off what our kids have been working on during lessons and band! Also, don't forget tonight is our Science Fair! You can come and view student projects between 7:00pm and 8:00pm. Make sure you check out our amazing art show, as well as book fair in the library. Netsin's Ice Cream Truck will be on site to provide a sweet treat for your family. We are truly looking forward to celebrating as a school community; we hope to see you there! Be sure to thank Mr. DeJohn, Mrs. Costello, Ms. Willis, and Ms. Weigel for organizing this amazing tradition.

In case you hadn’t heard the news, we’re doing a yearbook again this year! The yearbook is looking to celebrate current LP 5th graders as they conclude their elementary career and begin the next chapter of their schooling! 5th grade families have the opportunity to send in a baby picture of their child to be added to the yearbook with a short message (50 words or less) to their child. Who: This only applies to current LP 5th graders When: Picture/message/money due by Thursday, March 28. Cost: Due to limited space in the yearbook, there may only be 1 picture per student. The cost is $5 (exact cash only) to be sent in to school in a bag/envelope labeled with your child’s name. This money will be used for fun activities at the 5th grade end-of-year picnic. Where: Please send digital copies of the message/photo to Mrs. Antonelli at jantonelli@eastiron.org If you don’t get a confirmation email in 2 school days, please reach out again. Please send the money in at the same time you email your picture. Please reach out with any questions.
