LEVEL UP
Starting on Feb 12th, students in Ms. Hopkins' class began writing down on their own tracker when they achieved a 100 on an IXL skill. This was only for IXL skills recommended by the teacher. Each sheet holds 40 skills. When they fill up the sheet, they turn it into the teacher. In exchange, they receive a stuffed animal. I am including a picture of the 5 students that have already filled their sheet and LEVEL UP!
Students seemed to be excited to write down a skill. The sheets are taken up every Friday so the teacher can double check what they are writing down.
The 5 students that have LEVEL UP increased an average of 18 points in IXL Math and an average of 4 points in IXL Reading during the first 5 weeks. The class as a whole has increased 8 points in IXL Math and 4 points in IXL Reading. I hope their enthusiasm continues. There are a few other students very close to completing their sheet as well.
Telma Price, Finley-Oates staff member, was awarded the Employee of the Month from Credit Union of Texas. Mrs. Price helps prepare and serve meals on our campus and she adds a bright spot to everyone's day. Thank you Mrs. Price for taking such great care of our kids and being a positive influence in the lives of the students and those you work with.
