PSSA Reminder
This is a reminder that PSSA testing begins Monday, April 22nd for all 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students. Students should have a good night's rest, a balanced breakfast and should report to school on time (no later than 9:30) for our first testing session to begin. We will continue to serve breakfast at school as well. Please talk to your child about the importance of trying their best on the test as this is a measurement that shows how much our students have grown academically!
We will be testing Monday, Wednesday and Thursday of this week for ELA. We will test Monday and Tuesday next week for Math and then Wednesday and Thursday for Science for 4th grade students only. Please note that all student cell phones and smart watches will be collected during the testing window. If you do not want your student's cell phone/devices collected, please keep them at home during the testing window.
As always, I appreciate your continued support.
Mrs. Melissa Willis, Principal
Election Day Changes
Tuesday, April 23rd is Election Day and East Fallowfield is a regional polling location. With that said, we anticipate a large amount of car traffic on that day so any students who are able to take the bus are HIGHLY encouraged to do so!
Further, we will have a modified drop off and pick up that day. All pickups and drop offs will enter/exit at the far side of the modulars near the ramp - pictured below and starred on the overhead map. No students will be allowed in the middle blacktop (as that is the entrance for voters). Also, while driving, please be extra mindful of voters entering and exiting our building!
Yearbooks and Pride Lines
If you are interested in ordering a yearbook, please fill out this form or order online at
https://ybpay.lifetouch.com - our yearbook ID is 14647324. Hard copies went home last week as well. Please note, all 5th grade students will receive a yearbook so there is no need to order one for your 5th grader unless you want to pay the extra $5 to personalize the cover with their name.
We also sent home a form for Pride Lines which are published in the back of our yearbook! We want to emphasize that Pride Lines will print exactly as submitted - they are not recopied/ retyped - so please write clearly! The form is also below for your reference.
Both order forms are due by April 26! Have any other questions? Leave a comment or send us a message here or on Facebook!
Bubble Fun Run
On Wednesday, East Fallowfield hosted our first annual Bubble Fun Run and it was a huge success! The students and teachers had a great time! Thank you to Ms. Bernardo for organizing all of the online components for the event and to our PTO executive board for helping with the set up, decorations, and clean up. Thank you to our staff members and volunteers who spent their day taking photos, encouraging our students and making sure that fun was had by all! It truly was a wonderful event! More pictures can be found on our PTO's facebook page, here: https://www.facebook.com/share/x1Y5hK6xRLSnvvhx/?mibextid=LQQJ4d
Thank you to everyone who has been sharing their student fundraising links on social media and with loved ones. We have raised $5,238 to date towards our goal of $10,000. Please keep sharing as we are keeping the donation window open for 2 more weeks. At the conclusion of the fundraiser the top 3 classes will receive a special award. We appreciate all of your support.
Reading Olympics Competition
4th and 5th graders from Caln and East Fallowfield teamed up Tuesday night, as the Red Raider Readers, to participate in the Chester County Reading Olympics at TCHS on the CCIU campus in Downingtown. Shout out to our Big East competitors, Elinor Chesley, Hudson Durburow, Logan Mullen, and Valli Smith.
Throughout the year students read from a list of approximately 45 books. During the Reading Olympics they were asked questions about the books and awarded points on their ability to answer questions correctly. The Red Raider Readers participated in three rounds of questions against three other schools in Chester County. The team was awarded a white ribbon. The students did a great job representing Coatesville.
East Fallowfield Arts Night
Please join us on Wednesday, May 8th for our first annual Arts Night! Our students art work will be on display, we will have musicians performing, and a lot of other fun events! We hope you can join us!
Art to Remember Fundraiser
Art to Remember is an organization that takes students' artwork and creates customizable gifts for kids and their families to enjoy. All of the money raised goes back to the art program in order for us to continue creating awesome art. First, students create drawings, paintings, and other two-dimensional art. Then, it is all submitted to Art to Remember, and they photograph and scan them. Forms are sent back to the school and students of their artwork with a personal QR code. Family, friends, and teachers can scan the codes to shop online for items with the students work on them. When ordering is complete the items are sent to the school and given to the students. The kids feel special seeing their art come to life and have something to remember the experience by.
